Test Drive meme!

Because all our characters are the modern reincarnates of the characters we know and love, you need a modern mundane AU! Post your character with a couple details about who they are now. Use a prompt to set the scene, or do something of your own! And tag around.
->Stranding Shower Inclement weather has suddenly forced you to take shelter. There's someone else under this overhang or bus stop - this might take a while, so you might as well get to know them.
->Mall (mis)adventures You work at a mall. Or you want to buy something. Or maybe you just loiter around. There's a lot of reasons to be at the mall!
->Network news So you got a number. Let's see what happens if you write it down...
->Superhuman Sighting You have an interest in seeing one of the numbered - is that one there?
->Superhuman Surprise You felt hollow for a moment, and now you're numbered! Suddenly you're that much closer to canon and manifesting a mutation, a power, or a strange memory! Probably in public!
->Wild Card Combine prompts or pick something less alliterative! Monsters! Cultists! Boring days at the mall!

Thanks! I suppose I should buy a new one if it's going to break. How could you tell I was checking my watch?

[In a tone that implies that it was really obvious and everyone could have seen that if they just bothered to look. Which, to him, it is. People just never use their brains properly (when he was a child, he tried to be like Matilda and levitate things just by using more of his mental capacity. It didn't work, but he figured that he would just have to use it for other means.]
And as I said, if you are more careful now you will not have to replace it.

Aheh, I am terribly bad at being careful, unfortunately!
no subject
Also that comment gets you a look, Arnold.] If you do not try, you won't become more careful, either.

[ A shy sheepish smile ]
I know, and I do! But I'm eternally a klutz, it seems. I'm only really good at painting.
no subject
[It's a serious question, he has no clue when it comes to painting, and no talent for it past technical drawings and design sketches, so he'll have to ask this man's estimate instead of demanding to be shown.]
...People barely get my age right. [A bit sourly. It happens into both direction, either they think that he's an elementary kid or they think that he's closer to his A-levels.]

Good enough to run a local art gallery and for my pieces to sell for a good price on the market.
It's because of your eyes. [ Arnold says matter of factly ] You have old eyes.
no subject
What do you mean by "old"? They are exactly as old as the rest of my body. [That is a really odd statement (not that his eyes aren't strange, but that becomes only visible when he leaves the city on school trips or similar things; they don't just change their colour out of the blue, so there really shouldn't be anything uncommon with them now, the fact that most Asians don't have brightly coloured eyes like him aside.]
no subject
Well of course they are, but... you know how sometimes you get a feel for a person, like, they're very young or very old, based on how they act? Your eyes are like that. You have old eyes. They feel old.
no subject
So you're saying that I act like a grandpa?
no subject
Nah, course not. But your eyes are too old for your face. Like. I thought the way you talked, and the way you spoke, that you were old enough to be working yeah? Like that.
no subject
And would everyone think that, or only you? [...somehow he manages to still sound a bit derisive.]
