How would fandom get it wrong?



HOW IT WORKS:
Post a comment with your character journal explaining generally what the twisted and horrible fanon version of your character is. What less significant personality traits do they fixate on? How do the thirteen-year-olds on fanfiction.net write them? Who are they shipped with ad nauseum? What are they like in Omegaverse?

omg you guys I had to find a few minutes to work this in I just can't quit you.

EMMANUEL HALL, ULTIMATE WOOBIE.

Pacifist? More like complete baby. Forget the fact that he's in his thirties, he's terrified of everything and cries a lot. Also says things like "bless you, child" and fandom writes him like a Catholic when he's Anglican. Speculated to have been abused by his father. People apparently really like blasphemy kink and church sex...regardless. A lot of people still think he's a virgin/took a vow of celibacy despite that having nothing to do with his denomination.

His ex-wife is considered a huge bitch for dumping him and he usually seeks solace in Julien's arms...though some people do ship him with Kallie. And Chris. A tiny but vocal minority puts him with Haruka, despite the fact that they never even exchanged names. (and the age gap...whooo.) Otherwise he gets shipped with basically every other dude he's so much as spoken to and never tops.

People think his preincarnation was some kind of badass assassin or hit man. Also there's speculation about who this "good friend" that he's mentioned a few times is. Definitely a former lover, right??

In fanart he's usually drawn wearing the coat, even though he only tried it on once.

Of course when Jules is in this pairing someone has to be the top, but how Julien is characterized is so variable... Regardless he tends to call R.E. "Father" because one writer started it and a bunch of others perked up and copied.

And since Julien's preincarnation is thought to have been some kind of cold badass angel commonly used in darkfics, going and uh... punishing those who've had stuff to do with evil, that's happened too.

Jules and Colette, man. The fandom bicycles. Does that make them the Ultimate ship?

And then there's that one fic where Julien and Emmanuel succumb to their natures and go on a righteous killing spree.

I didn't realize how popular Jules might be until this meme. |D That said I'm sure he's often the disposable boyfriend who exists for someone to break up with to be with their OTP.

Yeah. |D I expect there are others where Emmanuel teams up with Aaron. ...Or hey, a subset of fics called, idk, "The Gift of a Knife" where anyone who Julien touches ends up echoing some kind of blade.

(this is true. and the reason why 99% of her fanon pairings wouldn't work - she wants to be topped, why can nobody do it >8( )

Keeping with the 'tumblr finds haruka problematic' theme: there's a small portion of fans that criticizes the fans of this pairing, even though nobody really thinks it's going to happen.

So when her main writer jokes at a con panel that if she ever saw him, she'd think he was hot for an old guy, tumblr is once again set aflame due to haruka-related causes.

then a subset of tumblrites retaliate with fic and art of Karson attempting to call her out. Half of them end with her curbstomping him, the other half end with her crying and apologizing for her behavior. It's all terrible.

(some people ship her with Hikari so they can viscerally murder people with words together. Though usually they just end up hating each other more.)
