[There are no umbrellas to be had here, nope. Vaughn did not, unfortunately, manage to reach the mall without getting soaked and, while he's not exactly about to complain because of a little rain, it is... kind of uncomfortable.]

Who brought an umbrella?

[He just shakes his head, dropping them into one of his grocery bags. Whatever, he can figure this out later.]

[He grins just slightly in amusement as the other man refuses, only to accept a moment later. But he says nothing on the matter, and nods.]

[He finds his car, driving around to pull up at the curb in front of the bus stop. Luckily, there are no buses in the way at the moment, and he gets out, opening the door to the passenger side to his friend. Before starting the car back up, though, he maneuvers them ridiculous lanky legs to shimmy his way into the back seat, from where he can reach the trunk area of his hatchback.

[Truth be told, he's cold, tired and really just not in the mood to deal with manly pride right now. So when that car pulls up, probably very warm compared to the bus stop bench, he wastes only a moment to steel himself against the direct torrent of the rain and climb into the offered passenger seat. He also silently vows never to forget whatever his wife's asked him to pick up ever again. Ever.

All Kotetsu receives for that trouble is a brow quirk at his shimmy and a soft sigh that even Byakuya is not sure is relief or just fatigue.

He does not quite appreciate the hoodie tossed at his head though.]

You're keeping busy.

[Has nothing to do with hoodies, but he gives Kotetsu a sharp glare for that. It's dry, where he is not. Can't complain too much about that.]

Working late again, I suppose?

[It's the only reason he can imagine Kotetsu being out here in this weather. At least, Byakuya doesn't see any milk for him in sight.

Even as he says that though, patting his hair dry with the hoodie, he eyes him. Maybe they don't see each other often, but he does (as does his family) worry about him. He's a foolish man and someone must.]

[It's a scorching hot day, ridiculously so, perfect for staying in somewhere, directly in front of a fan the whole time. Any and all desire to go out is quickly quashed.

One Vaughn Inglebard, however, has had his plans for staying in completely and utterly ruined. Instead, the day finds him pounding on the door to his, currently empty, house.]

[There is really no place Roy would rather be than out of the heat. He can practically feel his skin sizzling under the sunlight and is currently on the way back to his own house...when he sees Vaughn yelling at his door.

...What the hell is going on.]

What are you doing?

Vaughn whirls around, practically mid-pound, pressing his back to the door.]

Heh. I kind of... locked myself out.

He slumps slightly against the door, raising a hand to wipe sweat from his forehead.]

I just came out of the house for a minute! [Wait for it.] ...And forgot my key.

He leans to the side slightly, checking for any sort of transportation near the house.

None whatsoever, except for Vaughn's. Well, that can't be good.]

...Parents aren't home, I guess.

Roy's observation isn't the slightest bit comforting. He pushes away from the door, but quickly thinks better of it, not the slightest bit interested in getting out under the sun.]

They just left an hour ago. They won't be back for a while...

[A pause before he grins, although it's a tad strained.] ...Wanna try the window?

[Miata Belohnung: Work in progress app here . She's not happy. Miata had been prepared for the weather, having been a muggy day and all. She even had a really cute little umbrella to cover her head. But she didn't like how the air was so thick, and the rain had started so suddenly. There wasn't even a rainbow or anything cool to make up for it. How lame. At least she'd be where she was planning to go soon. She hoped.]

This is so dumb....

[She paused to look at an item in the window-and a hard stray gust blew it out of her hands. She yelped once at letting it go, then again at the hard smack of rain against her head. If Miata wasn't careful, she was going to end up looking like a drowned rat.]

Wait! Get back here!

[She was going to look so stupid, but she didn't care. She had an umbrella to chase after, because she did not want to get all sorts of water logged.

Besides. She liked her umbrella; it was such a pretty sky blue.]

[Jiro here is a professor at the LCU, though just now he's a guy walking through the rain. He's got his coat over his head, in a futile attempt to keep it off and--dammit, he just wants to get back to his apartment!]

Where'd this come from, anyway?

[Seriously, it was nice and sunny ten minutes ago, this blew in out of nowhere. If he'd known this was coming, he'd have taken a cab or something... there aren't any here now, and no bus stops, so he's got little choice but to keep walking.]

[On a similar trajectory, Julien hears him. He doesn't have a coat or anything and is soaked, blue hair plastered to his scalp. He seems cheerful.]

Man the weather this year is messed up! So much rain...

[The transparent inner eyelids that fit in under his human eyelids are closed to keep water out of his eyes. They just make his eyes seem somewhat darker, whites and all. He's banking on the rain and his thoroughly droplet-covered glasses hiding them.]
