[ The weatherman is always a lie. He always lies, and even when he's lying and you can expect him to be lying, the things he's lying about are lies upon lies upon lies and this logic is escaping me.

Basically, Karson is prepared for all weather at all time. He has a place in his backpack for an umbrella. He has a little coat stuffed in there, a water bottle in case it gets too hot, and Crocs just in case an apocalypse breaks out. He puts every girl scout to shame with how prepared he is for any and all situations.

Usually, it just means he lugs around extra weight wherever he goes. Sometimes, though, very rarely, his overpreparedness comes in hand. Like right now. Especially when he sees this loser. ]

Hey. [ Karson joins Travis under the bus stop, holding his umbrella to block all the water pouring off the top. Even if he was prepared for this weather, it didn't mean he enjoyed walking in it. ]

[ He jumps. Naturally, too consumed in trying to figure out a way home to properly pay attention to his surroundings. ]

[Roy might have met the same fate, had his mother not insisted on him taking an umbrella before he left home that day. Truth be told, at the time of his departure it was indeed looking cloudy, but as he wasn't going very far (only to a friend's house, really), the idea of carrying an umbrella did not cross his mind.

Mother knows best, as it turned out.

Passing by the bus stop, he almost doesn't pay Travis any mind until he hears him bemoaning his fate. It's enough to cause him to glance over and...well, Roy can't say he knows this guy, but the sight is so pitiable it makes him stop in his tracks.]

Chantal's ducked under the bus stop to escape the rain as well, holding her messenger bag close to herself. She ignores the boy with her there at first, in no mood to be having a conversation when she'd much rather be going home, thank you very much.
