[test] THIS WEATHER IS RIDICULOUS

Random scenario test drive meme. Some prompts:
> Ah god it's so hot and muggy how awful!
> The worst thing about summer cold snaps: you don't usually have your windbreaker handy because it's been so damn hot.
> The wind is perverse and trying to steal your things and/or crash stuff into you.
> It's raining wet vermy-things, as if the hail and possible storm wasn't bad enough. Now you have rain-echoes to deal with, at best.
> A nice day? I guess those exist?
So where are you?
> Caught way out in the open! At the beach, in the steet, at a fair, anywhere.
> Taking shelter! Bus stop, club you wouldn't normally frequent, bridge underpass, any port in a storm, any shade from the deathsun.
> In the mall or somewhere comfortably out of the elements, you lucky sunuvanek.
> Somewhere... else? idk, do what you want!
Have at thee!

Mara groans just slightly at the "fifty feet" because lbr here it's probably more like a hundred. And then Aria has the find the mysterious thing, and what if it's up a tree? (Mara doesn't know if that's a thing geocachers do but what she would probs do if she were one.) ]
If you find it in the next fifteen minutes we'll get ice cream on the way home.
[ This isn't really a DO WELL, CHILD incentive so much as IT IS HOT LET'S HUSTLE, CHILD incentive. Not as if they aren't going to get ice cream even if it takes Aria an hour, but. ]

Aria does look up from the GPS at her sister's groan, with a soft laugh. Like Mara hasn't dragged her to a thousand conventions and larp sessions...
Though she raises an eyebrow at the bribe. ]
You do remember I'm sixteen, right?
[ Not as if she doesn't want ice cream and the bribe doesn't stand a chance of working, but... ]
Besides, Mara, where's your sense of adventure? We have no idea what's waiting in the cache!
[ A log book and some sort of trade item, in all liklihood, like every other cache ever. ]
no subject
That is a point-- but at least most of the time Mara's hobbies include air conditioning. And cool stuff. ]
As if sixteen-year-olds don't love the fuck out of ice cream.
[ Mara sighs, twirling her candy stick between her fingers. ]
I have a perfectly strong sense of adventure. When there's air conditioning and a likely hood of neat swag. Unless there's magical powers or ice cream in that cache, my adventurousness wanes.

Only if there's the requisite amount of sprinkles. The sprinkle ratio is key to our love of ice cream!
[ No it's not. ]
Hey, there could be ice cream in there! [ No there couldn't be. ] Or the key to a mystical other realm! There could be anything!
And I wasn't kidding about being close. Look!
[ She turns the GPS towards Mara, although...it's a dot and the map. Not too narrow... ]
no subject
Okay maybe not they're such dweebs. ]
Of course there will be! No more, no less than is perfection. Otherwise we'd have to talk to the maker of the ice cream, demanding a refund.
[ No, they are not that rude. ]
Let's be real-- it's probably some lame trinket.
[ Mara examines the GPS, and just... nods. She has no idea what she's looking at but HEY AS LONG AS THEY'RE SOON OUT OF THIS HEAT, SHE'S DOWN FOR OPTIMISM ] Lead the way, Geocacher Megido.

Have we ever worked out the sprinkle ratio formula? If not, we should. We could make millions.
[ You know in a hypothetical world where people cared about that sort of thing. ]
It won't be! It'll be really cool, this time.
[ ...Because last time might have been a plastic dog figurine but it was totally cool anyway.
Aria laughs at the nickname, but nods, pointing. ]
I think it's just over here somewhere...
no subject
We haven't. We need to make a study of it, with charts and graphs and a power-point presentation.
[ What? You mean sprinkle ratios wouldn't create world peace? Lies. ]
If you say so.
[ If it's another plastic dog figurine, Mara will use the internet to track down the last person in the in the log book and punch them. Verbally. On Facebook or something.
Mara examines where Aria gestures, squinting through the sunlight. ]
What about that mailbox over there?
no subject
Of course this means we'll need lots of practical data.
[ So, you know. They have to eat a lot of ice cream. For science.
Hopefully for the sake of whomever left the cache last, it's not a figurine.
Aria squints as well, the two sisters looking eerily similar with the same expression on their face - before she grins, brightly. ]
That might just be it...! Let's go check around it.
[ She's already running forward even as she talk. ]
no subject
Mhmm.
[ Sounds like a brain freeze waiting to happen, but a glorious brain freeze. The freeze would be worth it.
As Aria runs forward, Mara doesn't notice for a moment, then-- ] Hey! [ And she hurries after her sister, dodging around someone walking a dog. ]
no subject
[ Not IN the mailbox, probably, since that would be a problem for people...but somewhere nearby...
Aria crouches down at the base, poking around the rocks. ]
I think...
[ There! ]
