We all love smashing our characters in the face with Echoes, right? And yet, rarely do we have the opportunity to ramble about what they actually think about them and/or just what the hell they assume is really going on...!

Character: Audrey Burne [Mineva Zabi]
How long they've been in game: Four months now.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: Audrey's first echo was while she was still moving into her Uncle's home. She tripped while unpacking and suddenly recalled her fall over the space colony Industrial 7.

How many total they've received so far: Five so far.

What do they think of their Echos?: Honestly? Audrey still dislikes them a great deal. The more she remembers, the closer she fears she's getting to this 'Mineva Zabi'. At the same time though, she's curious and does want to know more about her even if she fears becoming her.

Right now Audrey is a tangled web of guilt, regret, a touch of bitter anger and just a very awkward girl who isn't sure how to live normally.

And on other things?: Audrey has taken the stance of "If I can't ignore this then I'm fighting it." She takes this whole invasion thing with a horrible level of seriousness because... well, these Echoes have 'ruined' her life. Or the life she had hoped to have. She believes whatever triggered them is related to this invasion and she wants to stop it - or did in the beginning - mostly so she could go back to building a life for herself.

Any plans for them in the future?: While Audrey wants to focus chiefly on her 'organization' and trying to figure out this invasion business, she's getting distracted. By friends, by going out, by living a somewhat normal life. And while that's what she wanted, she also can't help but feel guilty whenever she realizes what she's doing. Right now she's torn between "I need to focus all my attention on this issue so I can fix it and go back to making a life" and ... well, making a life. She's being shortsighted and not realizing just because she didn't get to build her life the way she had envisioned she would when moving in with her uncle doesn't mean she can't build a life in a new way.

Character: Kallie Raydan / Lightning
How long they've been in game: Since the very beginning, 146 days or a week short of five months so far.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: March 19th - AKA 13 days before the game started. 8'D As a bonus, her 21st birthday also happened to be March 31st as well. (Explanation: the event that kicks off FFXIII's plot happens 13 days before the point where you begin playing, with Lightning's worst ever birthday on day 12. I COULD NOT RESIST.)
How many total they've received so far: 18.

What do they think of their Echos?: Ahaha so I actually made this, which is a WIP regarding what she does and doesn't know in relation to her Echoes, LMFAO. In any case, she does sort of have a vague working theory at the moment that maybe she did something in her previous life to intentionally get herself killed or otherwise reincarnated on Earth... and that's why she has powers?? Due to her pink hair and other various Echoes, she's afraid to interact with 'normal' doctors and hairstylists and that sort of thing, for fear of being recognized as unusual. In general, she's really not fond of this whole mess and really wishes she could just go back to normal, dammit... and yet at the same time recognizes she can't. It's screwing with her faith. She's a mess.

And on other things?: She really doesn't know what to make of Thunder Corp and/or whoever is behind the invasion/monsters and why. Even if she knows she should do something, figuring out just what that should be is harder than it sounds; she's worried about her family/friends getting involved or hurt, even before her house was burned by apparent lighter/insect hybrids. Of course, she's also completely thrown off by the presence of Miles Asher too, who is apparently the same person as the silver-haired teenager in at least one of her Echo'd memories. All she knows is the fact that he totally hates her and refuses to talk is all kinds of stressful, for reasons she can't quite explain....

Any plans for them in the future?: Clothes. Lots and lots of terrible clothes. 8D Also, ridiculous magic/abilities without any more context. Maybe one day she'll be strong enough and have the skill to actually wield her ridiculous gunblade! To be honest though, I'm just sort of going with whatever Echo opportunities happen to come up.

Character: Octavia Serket (Vriska)

How long they've been in game: 69 days (I'm not snickering. I'm mature.)

When or how long ago their first Echo was: Uhhhh a day or two before that^ 8Ia

How many total they've received so far: Ten!

What do they think of their Echos?: NOT A LOT, MOSTLY. Because most of them centre around bad things happening/people hating her, Octavia is concentrating on being a ~*super great friend*~ to the people she likes to avoid a similar fate. Karson has her convinced that they're soulbonded. Her life is suffering.

She's also been veeeerrrry slowly translating Mindfang's journal (what kind of shitty-ass alternate universe wrote in flipped-around Elder Scrollsese, wowowow) under the assumption that it was hers. So she currently thinks she was a fangy horned grey pirate lady (and also a Marquise?) who did lots of mind control and boinking. Sometimes at the same time.

She envisions her former self like this, showing all the creativity and style of a sixteen-year old who thinks Gaia Online is the key to great character design.

And on other things?: Haha what other things everything revolves around Tavia geez don't be silly

Any plans for them in the future?: One day she will get her wings back in a public place and send out an SOS from a public bathroom requesting a new shirt. She will be found in a mess of her own misery and glitter and it will be amazing. This is my goal in life.

She needs to get her wings back around the same time Marisa recalls how to fly. I don't exactly know why. Maybe because Marisa doesn't need pretty ostentatious wings to do so, so it's just one more reason for Tavia to seethe at her.

Character: Xander Jarle / Sandrath

How long they've been in game: August 15th, so not very long.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: August 16th.

How many total they've received so far: Only one.

What do they think of their Echos?: He's really confused by it.
And on other things?: In total denial of the network and the people on it having abilities, for now. (He still checks it, but doesn't comment on things) He is staying away from the tap water, just in case.

Any plans for them in the future?: Well, he's still trying to get a job (I'm having issues deciding on what that'll be) and I've been trying to get him to be more social, but that's proving to be a bit difficult due to the lack of echoes he's experienced. (Then again, coming up with how some of these things can be triggered is hard.) I believe seeing anyone who can turn their eyes black will trigger his sensing ability or running out of lighter fluid and snapping his fingers for someone else's lighter to get back his flame ability.

Haha, volunteering John's "eyes turning black" ability to help you with that echo if need be. Might be kind of difficult to get him to show Xander his party trick on their first meeting, but maybe later on. :)

Character: Aria/Aradia Megido.
How long they've been in game: About a month.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: When she was seven, so a looooong time ago.
How many total they've received so far: Six, the chunk of which were triggered by conversations about canonmates' things.

What do they think of their Echos?: She is Pretty Sure she was a robot, although apparently in a place where people had rainbow blood?? Aria is sort of ????? about it but is more or less okay with not questioning it too closely for the moment. The memory of exploding sort of bothers her in that she has had dreams about it post remembering, but it's whatever.

And on other things?: She wants to help out however she can, basically.

Any plans for them in the future?: UM, mostly she will someday remember things from each of her forms for confusion. IDK!! I would like her to remember Team Charge at some point and...WHATEVER...I AM UP FOR MOST THINGS. She will also be collecting her death memories as they come up in chances.

Character: Sophie Bai/Toph Beifong.
How long they've been in game: About a week, IT HASN'T BEEN LONG.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: Last school year, so before the summer.
How many total they've received so far: Four; starter, water, and two magic elemental memory things because people have magical elemental powers here.

What do they think of their Echos?: She's basically "OKAY..." about them. She only remembers that bending is a thing, as is metalbending, and that Katara is a waterbender whom she has strong friendly feelings for. Also she has a bracelet. She is disappointed she has no superpowers and is vaguely irritated by her new tendency to think of things as bending, but otherwise is ignoring it.

Also, she wishes SHE were turning into a shark/bug.

And on other things?: WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE EVEN DOING...

Any plans for them in the future?: I'm playing it by ear for her, tbh! Only plan is to put off her bending/"sight" regain for a while yet.

Query. Is it just Sophie's 'vision' you're wanting to put off, or all of her bending? Because if the latter, it might be wiser to not have Fred talk about or use Spire in her presence, but if not... (Though of course there are a number of memories that could give her instead, depending how it goes.)

How long they've been in game: Since the very start! [146 days!]
When or how long ago their first Echo was: His first pregame echo was 4 years prior from the car accident that killed his parents.

How many total they've received so far: 17!

What do they think of their Echos?: He's starting to realize that he's getting memories from three different people in two different times. He knows they're all linked through the Sennen Ring and that he's likely the only one remembering 3 people. He's not really happy with this.

And on other things?: WHERE'S HIS GIANT TRANSFORMING MECHA, DANG IT?! Minus the crazy shit going on in his head, he's actually having a good time of it all and making friends. GO SUPER TEAM, KICK THE GARDENERS ASSES!


Any plans for them in the future?: Someday, Diabound will get to be solid and there will be SUCH SHENANIGANS. And riding on Diabound's shoulder/in his hand because HELL YES FLYING MAN SNAKE. Eventually the stress of three separate sets of memories is going to give him a bit of DID/MPD where he'll switch modes between fluffy nerd Bakura and revenge obsessed angry face Bakura.

Character: Annabel Lyons (Annie Leonhart)
How long they've been in game:29 days
When or how long ago their first Echo was: Not far off her first network post.
How many total they've received so far: Eight (HELLS OF SPOILERS, DON'T CLICK IF YOU CARE).

What do they think of their Echos?: By talking them through and comparing with her nosebros, she's realised that she's becoming an angry squawking giant-slaying penguin.

I mean she has a reasonably coherent view of certain aspects of her old life, though absolutely not a complete one by any means. She's not so much confused by things as she is intrigued, I guess is the best way to put it? Though the odd little ring she got from one of her echoes is still pretty mysterious. Gosh.

She's not quite sure how to feel about recognising so many people from her memories on the network (four so far). Mikasa is firmly filed under AVOID AT ALL COSTS, but she's not so sure about Alan/Eren. Nosebros are cool, though. She wouldn't mind more echoes of them at all. They can stay.

She can't wait to be a giant again, wow (tbh I can't wait either ohohoho). The fact that Alan remembers titans as being "the enemy" is slightly disturbing, but who gives a shit you're outnumbered, Not Eren. Talk shit, get whirled around on a string until your spine snaps and you get flung away like a broken toy. #annielife

And on other things?: WELL SHE'S. PART OF THUNDER CORP. Though after the mess with Mac she's starting to wonder if sticking around there is the greatest idea. Plus she's now looking out for a couple of people besides herself, too, so... Lots of soul-searching in her future, I guess. She does have one. I swear.

Any plans for them in the future?: ONLY SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS LALALALA NOTHING WILL EVER HURT EVER AGAIN ABUBUBU

Character: Anthony Janvier
How long they've been in game: Since approximately the beginning of the game - within the first few days of April!
When or how long ago their first Echo was: I say a month or two prior to discovery of the network.
How many total they've received so far: Fourteen.

What do they think of their Echos?: He knows that he was a messenger in the Holy Roman Empire under Charlemagne with some nebulous involvement in matters of occult magic, which he gathers was a thing he was both aware of and the cause for his transformation into a zombie - he's got a mix of pride and deep discomfort and apprehension over the implications in various areas of what he's gotten.

And on other things?: He's likely got the most idealistic view of the condition of things he can take; he feels very strongly, even if he tries to avoid waxing on it, that this whole thing is some kind of chosen destiny, very possibly under some active authority or higher power and very probably to fend off the whole talked-of invasion - while a good-intentioned verbal knock on the head jolted him out of the worst of the insufferable-sufferer take-your-lot mentality he took on with it, he still figures solidarity, support, and cooperation is key and is eager to make himself of use.

Any plans for them in the future?: In the Echoes department!

Thus far his zombification Echoes have been approximately a month and a half in between - I plan to give 'im his next mid-September and time its advancement after that for the end of October, setting him to drop fully physically "dead" (but come-to in an hour or two afterwards!) in mid-December; and meanwhile should another Sanity/Insanity Echo find opportunity to hit along the way it'll take the form of a vivid vision of his limbs coming detached. Alas!

He'll also be set to learn Magick at some point - the one spell that he'll be able to cast will be Ulyaoth-aligned Enchant Item, which "charges" in-tact items with the power of an elder god or alternatively seals broken ones up back together. I'm hoping to hold out to trigger the Echo that'd get him the Ulyaoth rune, one of the four components needed to actually cast the spell, by something along the lines of breaking a vase - that is in fact more or less how his preincarnation found it! And since the StE universe currently lacks the presence of Ulyaoth himself, useability will most likely take one Echo for the finding and another for imbuing with his energy.

Also now vaguely debating whether or not to physically Echo back the ruby eye solely as a candidate on a list of prospects, especially seeing as it was last in the inventory of Paul (even with the unlikelihood of a Paul or Peter turning up, passing along items would be the reason I'm not planning to Echo him back a certain much more impressive sword than the one he's got!) - a ruby cut to be used as a key found jammed into one of his empty eye sockets by the cultists after his actual eyes have rotted out (or possibly been eaten by rats). If this would not be excessive then well Echoing it back "early" certainly would be.

Character: Regina Akamine / Kallen Kouzuki
How long they've been in game: Since near the end of May, so about three months now!
When or how long ago their first Echo was: Long time ago! It was shortly after Regina got bailed out of jail and visited her mother at rehab. After seeing her health deteriorate, hat was when she suddenly broken down and made a vow to make the world a better place for themselves.
How many total they've received so far: 8!

What do they think of their Echos?: Regina tries not to think too hard on the echoes when they make so little sense in her eyes. That being said, she's starting to piece together an idea on what this "Kallen Kouzuki" person is like; she theorizes that she's fought in some resistance group and her commander is a strange man in a mask who has really terrible fashion sense. Also she's very shocked to see a person she'd spoken to a few times in her echoes — that person being Morgan which reminds me, I need to tag her back, oops. The notion of having a double identity really confuses and unnerves Regina, especially when she learns of having two names.

While she's conflicted overall, she's also stubbornly insisting that she's Regina and will always be that person, not this weird redhead who pilots robots and is working for a Guy Fawkes wannabe.

She does like her enhanced strength and dexterity, though, and she doesn't mind the red hair too much... or the fact that robots exist in "Kallen"'s world.

And on other things?: Thunder Corp needs to go down, the people responsible for the invasion and Locke City's hot mess need to go down too, and Regina can't stand the thought of doing nothing but has no idea where to even begin. She's been proactive with the patrol, but also been hanging around on the network most of the time. That said, she'll be asking for details and get as much assistance as possible so she can continue to kick ass and take names.

Any plans for them in the future?: She needs to find out more about the how's and why's of the Japanese being "Elevens", and get more echoes naturally! Oh, and find out the identity of this Guy Fawkes wannabe in one of her recent memories. Fuck kowtowing to strange men in masks 8(

Character: Miles Edgeworth
How long they've been in game: 13 days
When or how long ago their first Echo was: Received his first echo about 8 years ago.
How many total they've received so far: 3 utterly useless echoes

What do they think of their Echos?: Not that he'd ever admit to it, but he's a bit jealous that everyone is getting such cool stuff and for him there's not really a huge difference, except he's also starting to wonder if his other self isn't all that good of a person and does eventually go so far as to murder people to get convictions.

And on other things?: Overall he thinks most of the people on this network are a bunch of delinquents and someone is bound to end up arrested for all the stuff they are doing. Of course, he doesn't think all that much about Thunder Corp and the police as well and that's the only reason he's not lecturing most of you about how it is best to avoid being arrested in the first place by not breaking the law in the first place.

Any plans for them in the future?: Poor Edgeworth really isn't ever going to get any nifty abilities unless I decide to make a case to get Phoenix's magatama since he had it for a whole day in canon. So overall my plans are for giving his memories back as much out of context as possible and picking the weirdest part possible and then filling it all in with more normal stuff. He also will likely gain some of the weirder pieces of evidence he had as well. But overall he's going to be easier to get echoes for since the current plot deals with corruption and a lot of the plots in Ace Attorney dealt with corruption.

One thing I'd really love is for someone to call him Edgey-poo because of the sheer horror that is associated with that nickname. I also have some other ideas for some things that will be amusing out of context. At least for all that he has no fun powers I can have a blast with out of context weird memories because Ace Attorney is such a weird and crazy canon at times.

Character: Cinderella (Rarity)
How long they've been in game: She's been a network user since the end of May.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: 'Bout four-to-five-now years ago!
How many total they've received so far: Eight.

What do they think of their Echos?: All she perceives as a pattern among her Echoes is that there's something rather human-like about each one she's had - the boulder still standing outside her pasture being the odd one out. She still doesn't know whether to think she may just be set to turn into a full walking-tall-on-two human lady in the future.

And on other things?: She's been sitting pretty (if with little excitement) out in the Bell family's pasture, and with herself and her owners having been safe thus far as well as she can tell, on the whole she can't bring herself to complain - while she's well-aware she'd best not forget to be not only a member of the society she's wound up in but a contributing one, it has been most marvelous having a social life, after all!

Any plans for them in the future?: As her Echoes have been coming in slowly and steadily it'd have to be something perilous that'd shake her status quo, whether it'd find her or one or both of the Bell kids or whether she'd be compelled to go to it - expectation for the time being will be to continue along the line of granting her relatively mundane yet not especially pony-like Echoes. Unsure where purple hair ought to be classified!

If something or someone were to cause the boulder to crack open all the same, that or hearing something suggestive of a sonic boom would make for fine triggers for the gain of either Rarity's horn or her cutie mark.

Character: Tamara Osada/Takako
How long they've been in game: Since 4/16
When or how long ago their first Echo was: About 3 years before the game started.
How many total they've received so far: 14

What do they think of their Echos?: She knows she's turning into something very not human and very not pleasant. Honestly, they freak her out now because Fenrir is a very not nice person. Oh, and she also thinks that her life was some weird fairy tale. Definitely not helped much by the fact that her canon is based off a fairy tale. Fairy tale villain is pretty much what she's going to end up as more than likely.

And she's also really not so sure about Sam's other self. Definitely not helped by getting a memory of him being asked to kill someone to prove his devotion and some other echoes that show a very unhealthy obsession.

She wants that cool dream ability she knows she is going to get though. Thanks person on the gdoc who mentioned that.

And on other things?: Thunder Corp sucks and she feels no pity for them being victims of her nasty virus.

Any plans for them in the future?: Really, with Tamara I tend to take things as they come since she can go in multiple directions easily based off events since she exhibits two outward personalities and it's all a matter of how things go as to what she ends up being.

Character: Alexander Varista
How long they've been in game: Since mid-April! 126 days, wao.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: Between 4/14 and 4/21! His first Echo was tripped by rumors of the "werewolf" attacks in the Dead District paralleling him addressing rumors of a werewolf attack at a research center in his original game.
How many total they've received so far: Fifteen Echoes, evenly split between Mental and Physical with one Item.

What do they think of their Echos?: Alex suspected he was seeing himself as a vampire very early on due turning into a bat in one of his Mental Echoes. He called them visions because he wasn't sure what they were. The notion that they're 'memories' didn't really solidify for him until Catherine's reincarnate came into the picture, iirc. (I should keep better notes, oops.)

Early on, he was kind of curious to see what else he would get because some others were getting nifty powers and the like (Toushirou's sword skills and ice magic, for example), but now he's eating his words. :D)-\

He's more or less a functioning vampire now and resigned to the fact. He doesn't know what else comes with the package (aside from turning into a bat) and he isn't in a rush to find out. He really hopes nothing else as drastic as his heart stopping happens. He's not worried about losing his job, but if something came up that would compromise it, he also wouldn't be terribly surprised. REALLY BUMMED, THOUGH, and worried about his finances etc. That's not something I'm ready to deal with just yet, though.

He's got mixed feelings about that shared memory with Reilanin. On the one hand, FINALLY SOMEONE HE CAN SWAP NOTES WITH? But... she ate people... That, plus his own unwillingness to divulge his vampire-ness openly, is keeping him from actually discussing his memories with most others -- in detail, at least.

He's also got some mixed feelings about his wife's reincarnate dying, too. He was in love, it felt amazing, but he IS not in love?? He didn't know her at all? Uhhhh?? Though his sadness at her passing was acute, it's that disconnect between the memory of a feeling and the feeling itself that's kept him from getting super down. It lingers, but isn't at the forefront of his everyday life. (He continues to wear the ring on his ring finger, though.)

And on other things?: Alex is (finally!) ready to take a proactive, offensive stance against Thunder Corp/gardeners/THREAT. It was the giggle water singling them out in public + Candy's disappearance riding on the danger at the mines that's finally pushed him into the mindset that they need to fight back.

And to fight back, you need to know who to target.

So, information gathering is high on his list of things the number club ought to do ASAP before someone else is taken or before Thunder Corp/PD becomes more brazen in targeting them.

Any plans for them in the future?: Become more proactive with plot! Dig up information! Make bad choices! I was actually putting off Alex being ICly proactive in plot for as long as possible because I was burnt out from playing that in my previous game, but he wants to get involved now, so whoops.

I'm interested in developing his and Reilanin's friendship to see what other kind of Echoes they might get just by interacting with each other, which actually might not be much considering the difference in relationship they have here versus their original game, in which she was basically his monster mentor.

Aside from that, I'm going with the flow!

edit: oh yeah, I'd also like for him to get his ledger back in increments. I'm not sure if I want it to be all entries or just his own. (Probably just his own because that's easier for me.)

Character: Sam Iwata [Sasame]
How long they've been in game: Since April, so 4 months.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: When he was in high school--I think I've said around 3 or 4 years ago?
How many total they've received so far: 12

What do they think of their Echos?: He's figured out that he was a "Leafe Knight" and that came with certain powers and responsibilities, although he's still not sure exactly what. He's got some weird metaphysical memory of combining with energy with some girl he doesn't know, so that's weird.

Also, although he makes every effort to hide it (and generally does), he's lately been feeling VERY bitter toward his memories. He knows that the "other him" had a very low opinion of themselves and was not a very happy person, and was also very set in his roles. And then there's what he knows about Tamara's other, which is also not particularly good news...he's become pretty distressed over the idea that they might be turning into these people whether they want to or not, and he's actually starting to become a little depressed himself the more he obsesses over the Echoes.

So he's started to take another tactic of trying not to think about them as much as he can and continue being as cheerful as he's always been, while focusing both on his schoolwork and Tamara and alternating between being a "useful member of the group" to "avoiding anything serious about it as much as possible." So far, it's working, but he's aware that it might just be a temporary coping mechanism.

And on other things?: Similar to the above, he's secretly frightened that his mother--or Tamara--will have something bad happen to them because of his involvement in the Network. But he doesn't think he can ignore it, either (although he tried that for a time) because echoes can come from such seemingly mundane things and inaction doesn't guarantee anyone's safety.

On top of that, he feels like his broken leg is a burden, and he's aware that so far his powers and knowledge are mostly either useless or not fully developed. He feels a little incapable.

Also like the above he's hiding this as much as possible. He really doesn't like talking about his problems, particularly to those that are close to him.

Any plans for them in the future?: I'm going to try to focus on less memory echoes (particularly those focusing on Takako since so many are focused on her and it's reeeeally easy for him to get canon reoccurances with Tamara without me trying much) and more on building up his powers a little so that he can...well, stop feeling QUITE so useless. That being said one way or another his self-esteem and mental health are probably going to keep taking hits, because...canon. I'm not sure how all of this will effect his relationship with Tamara--if they'll work through things well and become a really solid couple or if they'll start hitting some trouble--I'm sort of interested in both so I'm just letting things happen as they come.

I also feel like I should do more stuff with his mother, although I'm not sure what yet.

Character: Francis Fell (Aziraphale from Good Omens)
How long they've been in game: Only 8 days~!
When or how long ago their first Echo was: About two weeks prior to acceptance (beginning of August), when he hit a student on their bicycle with his car at night.
How many total they've received so far: Two.

What do they think of their Echos?: Francis is currently trying to fervently deny that he even had a first echo, since the echo inspired in him great apology and kindness towards those he's wronged. (He doesn't really like to do nice things for people, he's a terrible cynic about it, so feeling that amount of sympathy and apology bothers him.) Also as a skeptic, even if he were to accept that he's had a change of heart, he wouldn't chalk it up to reincarnation magic or anything. Recently, though, his handwriting has drastically changed from its messy scrawly print to a more cursive handwriting, and it's gotten to the point where his signature is entirely different as well. He's gotten in trouble because of this, actually; his bank has recently contacted him, suspecting someone had very blatantly forged his signature on checks and documents he'd signed. Right now, he isn't sure what to make of that whole mess, and needs to investigate it further. He'll probably bring it up to the network later.

And on other things?: Francis doesn't want to believe a single thing going on, though he's been scared by a few other reincarnates with freaky abilities, to the point where he went drinking to try and forget some of what he saw. Right now he's in stark denial, though that's sure to change soon enough. He's too paranoid to even touch the network right now, but will definitely resort to it once something freakish and supernatural occurs to him like, say, a run-in with a monster (or werewolf or vampire or angel or whatever other supernatural things are lurking around.)

Any plans for them in the future?: I'm planning to have his next echo be the desire to never sleep; in canon Aziraphale never slept on principle that he always wanted to be fully aware and ready for good deeds (because "Evil never sleeps, and virtue is ever vigilant!") This will translate more into Francis being more paranoid than vigilant, and not wanting to sleep for reasons even he can't explain outside of 'It feels like I shouldn't be sleeping.' He'll still be ABLE to sleep, he'll just feel extremely uncomfortable doing it, to the point where he'll wake himself up only hours later. He'll probably have to see a doctor... As a follow-up echo, I'm going to be a little less evil and grant him the ability to not REQUIRE sleep, so he'll be able to function again. And also it'll blow his skepticism out the window after he stays awake for a week straight with absolutely no side effects.

I have a lot of other ideas for echoes, events, etc. but they're all for the distant future! I'm going to wait and see how well they'll fit in with the overarching plot and also any of the CR I make.

Character: Hajime Aikawa
How long they've been in game: Since the very beginning, the lucky guy.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: His first Echo was his green blood and was a few weeks before the game opened, so sometime in late February or early March.
How many total they've received so far: He has fifteen! Seen here.

What do they think of their Echos?: He thinks he's turning into some horrible murder-bug creature that may or may not have been tamed by the humans in some fashion. Most of what he remembers is aggressive, but then there's the matter of the Echo of the family that was happy to see him returning home and his confusion over things like love. He is also still very confused at the hearts and playing card imagery he's been getting.

And on other things?: He feels for all the other people turning into strange, inhuman things, and right now, he just wants to use his crazy giant bug powers to keep as many people safe as he can. He's also terrified the crazy monster instincts he remembers are going to surface and that he'll become a danger.

Any plans for them in the future?: So he's eventually going to start getting back Joker's battle instincts bit by bit, which is basically the exact thing he doesn't want to happen. It won't be as bad once he gets his Category Ace back, at least. I'm holding off on that just because it'll allow him to become Kamen Rider Chalice, which will give him more "oh, wait, so I was actually a hero of some sort" Echoes.

Basically, the poor guy's going to be stuck thinking he was a horrible monster for a little while longer...and did I mention that he'll eventually remember that he was fated to destroy all life on Earth? And that he was sealed away for ten thousand years? That will also be a thing.

Character: Arthur Curry/Aquaman
How long they've been in game: He's been here since late May.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: His first Echo was at about the same time he first posted to the Network, since he's not the sort that would have held back from contacting anyone else.
How many total they've received so far: He has FOUR. I am BEHIND. Obligatory info post link.

What do they think of their Echos?: He thinks they're OUTRAGEOUS, and between talking to fish and breathing underwater, he couldn't be happier.

And on other things?: Everyone is great, and he loves you all. 8D

Any plans for them in the future?: When Arthur gets the Aquaman uniform back, he will be convinced that the A on the buckle is for Arthur. After that, then he can start remembering names and stuff. I just want that one joke...

He'll also be getting back his superheroic physique, which will also be OUTRAGEOUS. In a few more Echoes, he'll get the need to be in contact with water every couple of hours or else he will dehydrate horribly. He's probably not going to be as upset by this as some might be, but it's going to be inconvenient. I'm also trying to avoid Echoes of his family, because I'm not quite sure how he'll handle that at this point.

Character: Miles Asher/Hope Estheim
How long they've been in game: Since July.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: Earlier in the year. I haven't put an exact date on it, but likely during spring.
How many total they've received so far: Eight so far

What do they think of their Echos?: He doesn't like what he's getting, really. They're all punches in the gut, he has trouble holding all these feels, and some of these echoes seem downright useless to him, especially the last three he's gotten. What the hell is he supposed to do with a crystal that comes out of his arm askdfhalisfkdjsnvmdf,gh??? Because really, what even.

To him the most useful echo is his Water spell but even using it is weird because he's not comfortable with it. He also worries about losing his left arm since he can cast spells with only that (it's canon, as his l'Cie brand used to be there).

And on other things?: Thunder Corp is boring when you're on the inside, guys. Also, shit's all crazy here.

Any plans for them in the future?: I have so many ideas for future echoes aksljhfksldfjsdf. I want him to remember how AMP works, a bit more of his magic and the return of his crystarium. But the ones i really want the most are his mother's death and the Estheim family portrait which he'd feel crushing despair and overwhelming sadness over... MORE PUNCHES IN THE GUT HAHAHAHAHAAAAAA.

Character: Naoto Shirogane/Toni
How long they've been in game: Earlier this month.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: Aaaall the way back in 2008 as a college sophomore, because Psychology pings.
How many total they've received so far: Just three.

What do they think of their Echos?: She's honestly very perplexed about the two new echoes she'd gotten, since they don't show much of her past at all-- well, except for the kidnapping one. That one alarmed her to no end, because SHE'D GOTTEN KIDNAPPED.

And on other things?: Sob she's trying to get to the bottom of things, but it's really difficult when there are layers on top of layers and even the layers are layered. You're all ridiculous to her btw. She's been watching everyone from the start, she can say this with not a small amount of certainty.

Any plans for them in the future?: Making her think she used to be a man in her past life. I'd drop her little hints like her old school uniform and that interview she made about the Inaba case.

She'll also be getting her Persona, but she wont be able to actually summon him unless she gets more Persona-related echoes or trains real hard, because summoning Personas in the ~real world~ is very difficult (hence why SEES used Evokers).

Character: Mort Yokugawa/Dr. Maki
How long they've been in game: He was accepted June 4.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: His first Echo was right around that time; he got it at the art museum.
How many total they've received so far: He's had nine. Info post for the rundown.

What do they think of their Echos?: He is FREAKED OUT and trying to hide it. He thinks he may have been one of the alchemists mentioned in that weird medal-related story his brother told thanks to his memory of a set of purple Medals, but then he also has another memory. A worse memory. He remembers killing a woman in her bed with fire when he was a young boy, which is more than a little troubling. He is, of course, coping with this in the healthiest of manners in not saying anything to anyone at all.

Oh, yeah, and he's got a creepy doll, too.

And on other things?: It's easier for him to try to help everyone else than help himself, that's for sure. He's not quite sure what he wants to make of Thunder, but he's more concerned with being support for everyone else rather than going out and fighting them himself.

Any plans for them in the future?: Mort's Echoes are going to go awful in one of two ways: he's either going to get his preincarnation's social skills and reliance upon always having that doll on his person to the refusal of making eye contact with anyone else in the area, or he's going to start turning into a Greeed. Plus, he'll have random doll accessories coming out the wazoo.

Character: Kari Acosta (Caren)
How long they've been in game: Since the end of June.
When or how long ago their first Echo was: A bit before then.
How many total they've received so far: Five

What do they think of their Echoes?: Kari's mainly gotten memories back so far and isn't sure what to think of them. The underwater castle sticks out in her mind as weird, but she was also apparently on the run from someone seeking out people like herself once, and was approached by some younger girls who wanted her to join them. The similarity to the current situation gives her pause and she's decided to be careful.

She's also not sure what to think of the pearl that was ripped from her chest, but she hasn't let it leave her side just in case she finds out more about it.

And on other things?: The other reincarnates are slowly gaining her respect, though she's still prone to creeping on them and telling them they suck. She's very serious about this whole world-in-danger situation and wants it dealt with.

Any plans for them in the future?: I'd like her to set her pearl down somewhere or temporarily give it to someone to study, only to have her drop kinda-dead when she got far enough away from it. Since Caren doesn't have Aqua Regina's blessing like Lucia did, she can't be far from her pearl without passing out -- it's actually her soul. This should probably be figured out soon.

I also need to get her back her transformation abilities one of these days so she can fight, but that may take a while.

Character: Cain Hashimoto (Enter)
How long they've been in game: 20 days
When or how long ago their first Echo was: April 1
How many total they've received so far: Seven.

What do they think of their Echos?: Thanks to Akagi, he basically knows more or less what he's becoming--an artificial intelligence with some kind of apparent physical body. He's actually very interested in seeing how this goes as he becomes more and more like Enter, in a twisted way, even if he doesn't want Calista getting dragged any further in. He's intent on keeping these changes to himself.

And on other things?: He still thinks this whole exercise is ridiculous and that you're all wasting your time. Honestly, some people have practical things to focus on.

Any plans for them in the future?: Out and out villainy eventually, along his original lines as a Sentai villain and just a general thorn in the Numbers Club's side. For now, since that's far off, I'm really open to doing almost anything with him.

How long they've been in game: 71 days
When or how long ago their first Echo was: When he was a tiny lil babby who wasn't half as angry as he is now, he fell out of a tree, busted his head open, and developed the paranoia that there's something wrong with his blood.

How many total they've received so far: 7

What do they think of their Echos?: Karson is entirely convinced that he is the Messiah, the newborn Jesus. That's it. That's all he's got.

And on other things?: His dad works for Thunder, so he's not entirely convinced they're the bad guys. But he is pretty much FREAKING THE FUCK OUT ever since Candy went missing. POLICE ARE BAD FUCK DA POLICE

Any plans for them in the future?: He's probably going to try and start acting a little more leadershipy, now that he feels responsible for literally everything that's happening.

How long they've been in game: Since the end of May
When or how long ago their first Echo was: End of April, thanks to the pink light.
How many total they've received so far:a measly 5.
What do they think of their Echos?:

Confusion and trepidation. The whole knife thing kind of freaks him out, so he tries to remind himself he'll only use it for self-defense. The rest seems totally unconnected: a weird symbol, a coat, a memory of some guy fishing??? He does know that the guy he was used to wear the coat, but not if it has any particular significance in of itself. Also apparently he can go into people's dreams?? Fishing guy doesn't seem weirded out by this? Also called him "Cas". A sense of urgency/people might be watching. Everything points to government spy with a side of Talking In Your Dreams.

And on other things?: He feels a bit responsible for everyone on the network, especially the kids. He's going to be trying to step up a little and provide some leadership, though he's been a little stressed about appearing fine and dandy to the congregation.

Any plans for them in the future?: Nothing concrete other than "try harder to come up with canon parallel Echoes", haha. It's surprisingly difficult! I'd like to get him more memories, and possibly some of his healing ability soon.

Character: Shiro Nakamura [Hollow Ichigo/Zangetsu]
How long they've been in game: May 19th
When or how long ago their first Echo was: Shiro had his first echo shortly before his first post after being caught in a downpour. He remembered Ichigo's inner world, literally drowned in despair and represented as a town underwater.
How many total they've received so far: 11

What do they think of their Echos?: Shiro cannot make heads or tails of his memory/knowledge echoes. They're disjointed and make no sense PRIMARILY because some of them are from HIS point of view and some are from Ichigo's point of view. His item Echoes seem to indicate he's some sort of fighter (what with the sword and oldschool japanese clothes), but his physical Echoes point toward some kind of monster. Shiro finds his Echoes to be incredibly infuriating and even frightening. He has no idea what he actually is, and how ferocious his physical echoes are makes him very anxious.

And on other things?: He doesn't trust Thunder Corp, though he isn't sure how they fit into all this. He trusts his fellow Reincarnates implicitly unless they prove they're otherwise not trustworthy. Normies, however, he does not trust. He likes his own skin being in one piece waaaay too much to risk it. He wants to go back to being normal, but a deep part of him wants to fight, and to win, and to earn his life back through blood and sweat. Preferably the blood of his enemies and not his own.

Any plans for them in the future?: It's only downhill from here, Shiro-kun. There will be more body horror, there will be existential crises, there will be terrible things that prevent you from having that normal life you so desperately crave. And yet he will hang on to these normal things; cooking, his cat, the bakery, whatever. All for the sake of maintaining his sanity.
