Who, me? Yes, you!
This is a meme asking what if you, the player, were a reincarnate in the game. Who would your preincarnation be? Canon character, original, what have you. What's your first Echo? How are you reacting to changes? What kind of role do you play? (High schooler? College grad? Feel free to lie floridly; after all this you is already AU, living in Locke and not knowing all these canons and presumably not playing at StE and all)
If you wanna get super meta, do you know your character(s)? How do you get along, or don't? No shame if you've got all the powers and are hooking up, man, this is for silly.

One is, uh, a joysweeper. Yeah the things I took my username from. Those are dragon-human hybrids about a foot tall, mostly dragon but with humanlike hands and faces. The specific individual's an explorer who was once storm-blown very far from home and into a settlement of creatures who've never seen her kind before, nor they hers: humans. Man I'd have to rename her. "Ristakker" no longer sounds as good as it did.
Turning into a joysweeper would have its issues because... shrinking... and tail and extra limbs and horns and foot-claws and parthogenic reproductive system. But I'd also get more social and energetic and cute in a weird way. As a joysweeper I would rarely be much good in a fight, though the particular sub-skin scale structure would make me increasingly difficult to injure and I'd be quite fast. I'd probably be potentially useful but spend a lot of time feeling useless and awkward.
First echo is pointy moveable ears. A later one would take me to about three feet tall and I'd just get smaller from there.
The other possibility is the thing that made the joysweepers: a vast vaguely dragonish being which settles into barren places, lets the skin sloughing off its body become a kind of soil, and in chambers held under shell-wings combines and designs new species of plants and animals and people to go be supported off of and around its body, and studies them. This one's a scientist-experimenter who also designs and tests pets and food animals to be sold to... what was it, aliens?
Turning into a maker would be pretty awful, since there'd be early echoes of having a lot of parasites, and growing thick skin-covered scales and fine branched grasping eyed tentacles that could slide out from between those, and eventually ending up huge and semi-sessile with laboratories designed to be used with said tentacles snugged against my ribs. But hey if my mind would change too at some point I wouldn't mind that. Or much else.
There'd be a midpoint where maker-me would be terrifying in a fight, before there'd be another Echo and I got too sluggish. Then I'd just create things in the spawning-pods in my labs to do things for me. Or get killed or normie-ized well before then because honestly full-strength makers... yyyyyeah. First echo there is a retractable tentacle on my forearm, with one bright eye and three or four little graspers.
...I'd be friends with Julien because he's the sort who irl is most likely to make friends with me; outgoing enough to take up with the shy one, has other things to do but will make time, not a jackass. He and joysweeper-me would stay friends and mutually complain about our Echoes and I'd love that he's a bird and he'd be dismayed by that. Maker-me would also love that he's a bird and slowly go clinical and creepy, and he'd kind of pull the fade out on me.

(it's some sort of AI which manages some relatively mid-level resources until it is recruited as part of a ~greater calling~)

Or maybe the first echo would be memory of some chilhood holidays cause of seeing an injured butterfly. :D
