The Train to STE Meme (SPOILERS for canon deaths)

You know those Train to the Afterlife memes? In STE the canon versions of all our characters are dead. What if there was a train bearing their spirits on to reincarnation here?

This is a meme where canon versions of the characters can interact. They all know they're dead. They may or may not remember just how they died, or how they got to be on this particular train. Doesn't matter if they'll be born decades apart - that just means some people disembark a little earlier than others. Go over brochures about what your new incarnation will be like, spontaneously turn or be human, try the snack cart, fail to convince the friendly but very busy conductor to give you a transfer, or simply chat.

You just can't stop the train, or leave it. Not yet.

Hobbits are shorter than we are, with big feet with hair on the tops. They're very sneaky, though, and like I said they don't care much for strangers. I didn't even really know of them until we met Bilbo.

And he's my uncle, yes, and hopefully King Under the Mountain by now.

[ Sora stares at Kili for a second, then slooowly look down at his own feet. Uh... his feet are pretty big. Just sayin'. He's not going to pursue that topic for now, but yes. ]

King Under the Mountain? So... that makes you like a prince, sort of, right?

[Yes but he's wearing shoes]

Yes, sort of. Fili was always more the prince, though, being Uncle's heir.

[ THAT IS SOME ESSENTIAL INFORMATION THERE KILI ]

Fili? So that makes him... your cousin? Brother?

Older brother. Thorin never married. Too busy for it, Ma said, what with the Mountain and getting us all settled in the Blue Mountains.

[ Sora laughs, settling in more comfortably. ] Ok, back up. So there's the Mountain - the Lonely Mountain - and the Blue Mountains, right? And that's where you lived?

Yes. It's...it's a long story and I don't know how it ended, to tell the truth. I'm dead, after all.

Yeah, true. [ ... And maybe that means he's the age he looks. Oh. Sora frowns, tilting his head. ]

Wanna tell me about what you know? We can always talk about something else. I got lots of stories.

[He shrugs. Honestly, it hurts to think about Erebor and everyone but he's good at hiding some things]

I'm not much for story-telling. You said you knew a princess?

[ ... He's not gonna let him get away from that so easily, but he's pretty sure they've got time. :U he will be back for this information later! ]

Yeah, seven of 'em! [ ... Well, the next part would probably only have mattered if keeping the secret would have protected the world order, but seeing as how they're dead and all. ] They were all from different worlds.

That's the second time you've mentioned other worlds. There are others?

Uh... [ ... He kind of did, didn't he? Whoops. Oh well, it's not as though it matters. ] Yeah. It's kind of what I did before all this. World hopping... Going to see other places.

We've no stories that tell of any world beyond the one we go to after death--and this is not it. What sorts of other worlds did you visit?

[ -- Ok, he's got to ask about that later. Right now, though, he's talking about himself! ]

All kinds! Big worlds, small worlds, worlds that were made up of other worlds, dream worlds... There was even a world that was in a book, if you can believe that.

[He laughs]

In a book? Truly? I've heard of people talking about books taking them places, but never so literally!

[ Sora grins conspiratorially. ] A whole world in a book, with a forest mixed up with the words. The only people who lived there were walking, talking stuffed animals.

Oh, now I know you're joking. Talking animals? Stuffed ones at that? Do you mean like a hunter's trophies or like a child's toys?

Toys! [ He knows it's hard to believe, so he's really going to play up the story part. ] One of my friends was a stuffed donkey made of blue cloth. His tail fell off all the time, so we always had to drop everything just to find it and pin it back on.

I am not nearly drunk enough for this.

[But he's laughing. It's a good distraction]

Why not just repair his tail permanently?

IIII'll bet we can fix that. [ They should find a bar later. :)b ]

The only one who knew how to sew there was the stuffed bear, Pooh, but he wasn't very good at it! He'd have to sew himself up almost as often as Eeyore's tail fell off.

It doesn't sound as if these toys were well taken care of, or was that what happens when toys learn to talk?

Well, I guess they had lives and places to be besides in some kid's room. It must have been like getting bruises and scrapes every once in a while.

I never left a part of myself behind when I got bruised.

Yeah, I don't think they ever felt pain now that I think about it... Except when it was important?

[ ... This apparently doesn't bother him. ]
