The Train to STE Meme (SPOILERS for canon deaths)


You know those Train to the Afterlife memes? In STE the canon versions of all our characters are dead. What if there was a train bearing their spirits on to reincarnation here?

This is a meme where canon versions of the characters can interact. They all know they're dead. They may or may not remember just how they died, or how they got to be on this particular train. Doesn't matter if they'll be born decades apart - that just means some people disembark a little earlier than others. Go over brochures about what your new incarnation will be like, spontaneously turn or be human, try the snack cart, fail to convince the friendly but very busy conductor to give you a transfer, or simply chat.

You just can't stop the train, or leave it. Not yet.

[Sternbild is like AU Earth of the retrofuture, who even knows what accents sound like there.

It's not something Kotetsu really notices or pays attention to, though, anyway. He got what he wanted, i.e. Ravi engaging him, though he was hoping they could get going on talk about something far less important, considering that talking about their new lives necessarily means acknowledging their deadness, which is presumably what Ravi is upset about.

Not answering would probably just upset and frustrate the guy more, though, and he doesn't wanna do that.]

Ravi, right? We're apparently supposed to be friends in the new-life thing.

[it's not his deadness so much as the circumstances thereof. not a strong distinction functionally, though. being reminded about this next-life business just reminds him of how bad the last one was.]

[but there's an even more uncomfortable parallel here, because do you know how he wound up becoming friends with Alex?]

[it was because Alex was an obnoxious ass who forced his way into Ravi's life.]

[kiiiind of like Kotetsu is doing right now. and hey, guess what he really doesn't want to think about!]

[he slouches a bit, wraps his arms around himself, glances down at the brochure on the seat beside him.]

[He's finally finished cleaning up the popcorn, so he's going to smirk gently and take his seat next to Ravi again, resting his head against his arms.]

I'm Kotetsu. [Beat. That smirk deepens.] 'Clumsy Asshole' works too.

[a halfway amused huff, because that much is obvious.]

[he just deadpans it. callin your shit out, Kotetsu. he knows what that kind of thing looks like and he doesn't care how you feel about it.]

[he doesn't sound mad about it, at least. more...exasperated. like it's something he used to get annoyed about but has long since grown used to.]
