The Train to STE Meme (SPOILERS for canon deaths)

You know those Train to the Afterlife memes? In STE the canon versions of all our characters are dead. What if there was a train bearing their spirits on to reincarnation here?

This is a meme where canon versions of the characters can interact. They all know they're dead. They may or may not remember just how they died, or how they got to be on this particular train. Doesn't matter if they'll be born decades apart - that just means some people disembark a little earlier than others. Go over brochures about what your new incarnation will be like, spontaneously turn or be human, try the snack cart, fail to convince the friendly but very busy conductor to give you a transfer, or simply chat.

You just can't stop the train, or leave it. Not yet.

[His slap hits a hunched over woman with her head in her hands.]

My last one was outrageous enough.

But this one might be EVEN MORE OUTRAGEOUS!

[Come on, smile! It's outrageous!]

[She is too upset over the decidedly not-outrageous way she died. SADFAIS]

What qualifies as "outrageous"?

LOTS of things qualify as OUTRAGEOUS, really! Like crime-fighting! OR ADVENTURE!

Huh. What adventure did you go on that you ended up here?

Nothing less than SAVING THE WORLD from ALIEN INVADERS!

[He shakes his head.]

Kind of a lot at my age--the old ticker finally gave out, but hey, I had ninety years of ADVENTURE! Nothing to sneeze at! What about you?

[A pause.]

So, did you make sure the alien invaders were good and gone before you ended up here?

I certainly did! If you've got to go out, might as well be while OUTRAGEOUSLY SAVING THE WORLD! And I know things are in good hands, so I can rest easy--my boy's ruling my kingdom now!

[Finally cracks a smile.] That is a good way to go.

[She pulls her brochure out.] Though, do you think there's a chance we could go back as a ghost for a little while? "Special perk for services rendered"... something like that. Might be good to check, just in case.

I don't know, going back as a ghost is kind of frustrating. You can't even interact with anything without possessing someone! Like DEADMAN!

Huh. Who's Deadman? You know a ghost?

Well, I don't know him personally, but BATMAN does! And yeah, he's a ghost! An OUTRAGEOUS one--used to be a circus performer!

I'll take your word for it about interacting, then. But you can hear and see as a ghost, right?

Yeah, you can! It's just DOING anything about what you hear and see that's the hard part!

Well, I wasn't thinking about changing anything. I left something unfinished over there. Just wanted to check up.

[Idly flips through the brochure again.] But there's no helping it, I suppose. What does your brochure say? I guess you're happy with your... uh, next life?

Well, it's not going to be as OUTRAGEOUS as my last life, but hey, I'll get a chance to be a superhero again eventually!

[He is just going to stay as upbeat as possible despite any misgivings. It is the only way.]

What about you? Anything exciting in your future?

I sound pretty boring. [Her new self doesn't like martial arts can you believe] But maybe it won't be that bad.

By superhero, you mean...?

Boring? That's too bad! Hopefully you'll get some OUTRAGEOUSNESS in your life one way or another!

If I dedicate myself to HEROICALLY SAVING PEOPLE after I get my superpowers back, then THAT MAKES ME A SUPERHERO!

Yes, I guess it does. What kind of superpowers do you have? [Semi-professional interest. Even though she's dead. But she isn't sure of the details of how this train/dead thing works so it could still be useful! Maybe.]

I can breathe underwater, have OUTRAGEOUS super strength, and talk to all forms of sea life! I'm AQUAMAN, KING OF THE SEVEN SEAS!

How about you? Got anything good?

I'm not a superhero.

King, you said? Was that by default, or...?

But everyone can be a superhero if they have HEART!

[He grins.]

King by birth! I'm royalty! Looks like that's going to change, but ah, well, I'll still be King of Atlantis in my heart!

[Once he gets that back, anyway.]

[She just smiles (maybe part-sardonic, part-wistful) at the superhero thing.]

I haven't heard of Atlantis. Is it— [Is it connected to Interpol— No, Inga, you're not on the job anymore.]

Well, how about you describe it to me? Where I'm from, Atlantis is mythical.

Well, it's UNDERWATER! And it's OUTRAGEOUS! And a lot of the architecture looks like the things your Greek surface-dwellers built long ago!
