The Train to STE Meme (SPOILERS for canon deaths)


You know those Train to the Afterlife memes? In STE the canon versions of all our characters are dead. What if there was a train bearing their spirits on to reincarnation here?

This is a meme where canon versions of the characters can interact. They all know they're dead. They may or may not remember just how they died, or how they got to be on this particular train. Doesn't matter if they'll be born decades apart - that just means some people disembark a little earlier than others. Go over brochures about what your new incarnation will be like, spontaneously turn or be human, try the snack cart, fail to convince the friendly but very busy conductor to give you a transfer, or simply chat.

You just can't stop the train, or leave it. Not yet.

Usually? Personal satisfaction, in the main. Here? I'd like a name to call you by, and I suppose I'd like a look at that registry too.

Well I suppose I don't really want to see my brother here - but, well, pigeons live shorter lives than humans.

Thorin, son of Thrain, son of Thror, and king under the mountain - or so I was. [As under all likelihood, the title would already have passed on to his cousin at this point. Yet his voice doesn't indicate him to find any less meaning in his name and title.

Pigeon. Quite large for one.] Yet a human lifespan is nothing of length already. [He nods; if the bird was more closely acquainted with humans he would probably notice the tell-tale differences - not only in height, but also in build. And if he was from the same world, also in name and title, dress and gear. Which is why it doesn't occur to Thorin that he might have been mistaken for a human in the first place.]

Ah? Kings and I have a bit of a history. [he rouses his feathers and slicks them down.] I do bear noble blood, but I've long ago repudiated all titles, land, whatever was assigned to me. My father worked with leather. He was as common as the street. [he's proud of his father, long ago murdered by nobles.] But I'd rather he wasn't here.

[Yuuya tilts his head in a particular way, more or less equivalent to raising an eyebrow.] I think we have differing perspectives here, o king under the mountain! So, you are not human.
