The Train to STE Meme (SPOILERS for canon deaths)

You know those Train to the Afterlife memes? In STE the canon versions of all our characters are dead. What if there was a train bearing their spirits on to reincarnation here?

This is a meme where canon versions of the characters can interact. They all know they're dead. They may or may not remember just how they died, or how they got to be on this particular train. Doesn't matter if they'll be born decades apart - that just means some people disembark a little earlier than others. Go over brochures about what your new incarnation will be like, spontaneously turn or be human, try the snack cart, fail to convince the friendly but very busy conductor to give you a transfer, or simply chat.

You just can't stop the train, or leave it. Not yet.

Giants that eat humans, huh. All part of the circle of life, friend. Is that how you bit it? Eaten by a Titan?

Don't you fucking say that like it's natural-

[He bites off the rest of his snarl because that last question gets him thinking. No matter how hard he tries, he just can't quite recall exactly how he died.]

Ha? But things eating other things IS natural. Unless you're a plant. Plants don't eat anything. [pause] Unless they're those kind that eat bugs.

[Zangetsu cackles] You don't remember how you died?! That's... [he trails off, because now that he thinks about it...

Titans don't need to eat anything. They can't even digest the people they eat - they just vomit them out when they're full.

...You neither, huh? Maybe nobody can remember, then.

Ha? Really? That's dumb. I mean... technically, Hollow don't need to eat either. But when we do, we use what we eat to get stronger. Eating just to eat seems stupid as hell.

[Zangetsu huffs a bit, clearly not too happy about this turn of events...] Well, I know dead souls forget their old lives in preparation for reincarnation... That part's normal. I just guess I didn't know the time-table.

Yeah, well. A lot of things about titans are stupid as hell.

[Eren huffs in return, crossing his arms in frustration.]

I wouldn't know. I've never died before.

Stupid, but obviously a big enough problem that brats have to be soldiers. Interesting.

[Zangetsu laughs, and it echoes weirdly]

I'm sure you have! There's very few "fresh" souls going around. Most of them have done this once or twice... but you wouldn't remember it. [he crosses his legs and scratches at his face a bit] Death and souls is kind of my job. ... Or, was, I guess.

A big enough problem that they drove humanity into living inside walls like livestock. It's nothing to laugh about.

[But wait, something he just mentioned might be more important than getting angry.]

You mean I could have been someone else before? What if I did remember something about it?

Mmm. It'd probably not be a full memory, first of all. It'd just be... a feeling. Kind of like deja-vu. Very few people are spiritually aware enough to be able to tap into their past lives.

What if I remembered something I'm pretty sure I've never actually seen? Would that be possible?

[Zangetsu makes a thoughtful humming sound, rubbing his chin]

Could be flashes from another life, sure. Or it could be something from your current life that you forgot. [he leans in, probing at the kid with his reiatsu, feeling him out. Enjoy that creepy icy feeling, Eren. Thankfully, he withdraws after just a few seconds] My guess'd be the latter, though. Your soul has barely any energy to it at all! And you need a lot to get flashes of former lives. Hell, even most mediums can't do it. [he leans back, picking at his claws] Maaa, stranger things have happened!
