I was standing by the bridge over the river, and he came from my left. This part of the park was in that direction, but no luck here, obviously.

Then how about looking over to the right? If they're not there, they must be in the opposite or something like that!

That's got to be only other way where they could be if they're still around here!

[...Or that they could have gone home too, Abby. With that, she pointed the other way!] Then let's go that way!

Hm, good idea. Come on, I'll lead the way to where I found him!

Then c'mon, the faster we find them, the faster we can get the puppy back home!

[Kind of a scary thought, the idea that someone could have just brought the dog and and abandoned him here. But most people can't be that cruel, and there are still places they haven't looked...]

The dog barks, and it takes Evan a second to realize he can hear the meaning behind it.]

[Wait no, that's impossible. He ignores it.

Abby may notice that Evan is being strangely silent all of a sudden.]

[As Abby continued talking to the dog, she couldn't help but notice that something was off.

Something was quiet.

[That gets Evan's attention, and he nearly jumps up out of shock.]

[He hurries ahead at a quick pace, taking the dog with him.]

[We're off to the bridge we go! We're off to the wonderful bridge we go! Off to find some owners and all sorts of magical things!

All right, puppy, go off and do your thing! Go off and see if you can sniff around to see if your owner is here!

[Of course, she can't really talk to the dog but she can try!]

[The dog barks and Evan definitely hears something about where are they going? And okay, maybe he's crazy. Maybe he ought to test that theory.]

Yeah! Go on, look for the people who brought you. They should be here somewhere.

[The dog jumps up at him, sniffs him for a moment, and trots off. Evan looks slightly bewildered. Did that work or not...?]

[For a moment, Abby just stared at him and then back at the dog that just ran off sniffing around the area. At first, she wanted to say something but now she was wondering if it was just her imagination.

I think he really likes you! Haha, I'm not too surprised, you did find him and stuck with him after all this time! I just hope we can find them in time...

[Is she staring at him? Maybe he deserves to be stared at. Maybe something weird is going on. Maybe--aaaaagh you know what he's just not going to think about this right now.]

Of course! And besides, we got the police as back up! I'm sure they'll help out a defenseless puppy around! [Even though she doesn't really trust them...

[Evan glances over at the source of the noise and realizes that the dog is definitely talking. Evan doesn't know if the girl he's with can hear it, but he is definitely understanding that barking. Not that he needs it to hear excited yaps as "Look! I found her," but it's hard to deny that he's getting more out of it than he should.
