ECHO CLASSIFIED ADS MEME

ECHO CLASSIFIED ADS MEME

Have an Echo request that you're just dying to make but you can't seem to find a canon reoccurrence trigger for - or a trigger you'd love to bring into play in a specific way?

Consider this our first try at an Echo-specific plotting meme!

Gather up, post a comment for each of your characters, and fill out information on what Echoes you're looking to obtain or play about with either freeform or using the copypaste form for a start:

Peruse at will and see what another character might have that interests you - or how yours can assist another one net an Echo!

Let's give it a go!

She can do either, far as I can tell! Finger lightning might actually be easier for her to pull off at her current power level (she hasn't echoed back much of it, like I said.)

Aha, excellent. And how does that tend to manifest?

Or no, let me go the other way. The manifestations of lightning in Golden Sun, as far as I've managed to determine, are the aforementioned bolts from the blue (generally in clusters), a discrete lightning bolt swung like a sword for massive damage, an axe that can spit lightning all over the place when it hits, a spell that tosses stars made of lightning, a related spell that throws a ball of lightning, a sort of energy whip, a discrete bolt from the head of summoned!Thor's hammer, coursing dragon-shapes as part of another summon, and the breath attacks of a couple of physical dragon things. Oh, and a giant playing card that spits electricity at enemies. Do any of those sound like things Arlene could do?

(Yeah, I dunno. This canon can be weird sometimes.)

Bolts-from-the-blue are one of the most common ways she uses it in-canon! There's also an attack where she basically sprays it from her hands (going by the GBA version for that one since I don't have Re:CoM), and in her bonus boss fight she throws giant balls of lightning around.

If she saw the card thing in action she might get an echo off that, since cards were kind of a big deal in Chain of Memories (though I'm not sure if the card-based battle system counts, come to think, since it's not in cutscenes.)

Aha, excellent! Bolts from the blue are also the most common lightning spells in GS, both from enemies and party members if you don't mess around a lot with classes. (Seriously, I think there are three whole lines of spells that look almost identical except the color.) So that could get him... hang on. Roughly how tall is Arlene?

Right, sorry. Anyway. That could prompt any of a few Echoes. I doubt there's much I could do with the hand-spray one, but might you be able to link a video that shows the balls? I may be able to work with that, depending how they look. (Though if they're a bonus boss thing I imagine they'd be less available currently.)

Hm. The card thing would take a few Echoes to set up, since it's exclusive to an item-based class. Though if he does get those and there's enough similarity I daresay he could provide a few more triggers; the item that grants the class is itself a card, and it gives access to all of these spells. So I'll keep that in mind.

I suppose the next question is, how can we arrange for things to be triggered? I can definitely have Fred wander the city or see network stuff, but I don't know how likely Arlene is to be doing stuff where he might see.
