Have an Echo request that you're just dying to make but you can't seem to find a canon reoccurrence trigger for - or a trigger you'd love to bring into play in a specific way?

Description: Xander is a former solider of the army, honorably discharged after the death of his twin brother; now turned grocery store baker. He usually keeps to himself and is loyal if you befriend him, but things have started to change since he's gained echoes of his 'other self'. Sandrath on the other hand, is more sociable but isn't loyal or very trusting of people due to his 'profession'. He's considered as a traitor in his world when he became a 'fallen arch-angel' by switching sides. He is also considered crazy due to being exposed to a substance several times in his war career and indulging in it after obtaining a vessel.
Seeking Triggers For:
- Sensing ability, triggered by someone who can switch their eyes completely to black.
- Shape shifting
- Super strength
- Sigils / Spells, knowledge on the subject or visual demonstration will work. A barrier spell would be wonderful as well.
- Memories: being attacked by a vampire would be a bit of a parallel to an attack by a 'hybrid angel' who would take some of his blood, studying with or teaching another person (younger or older), and either rescuing someone from a body of water or being pulled under water by something.
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge: Shadow mimicry / teleportation, flame conjuration via snapping, a healing ability that burns slightly when used, able to create / summon melee weapons, a filtering system for diseases / viruses, slight discomfort from spells considered as 'light' or 'holy', immortality which allows him to function without limbs or vital organs and protection against bleeding out with a second skin. As for knowledge, he does know of different types of 'angels' and 'demons' from his preincarnation's world, a memory of his other self messing with preconceptions and depictions of them, why the 'angels' fight against 'demons', an encounter with a genetically modified 'angel' (a 'hybrid') as well as rescuing a 'grim reaper' from a 'puppeteer', and some information about a being named Lucifer.

Description: Fred was once a fairly ordinary college student. Then the Numbers happened, and he got powers, and aliens killed his mother. Now he's pretty much stopped going to classes and is trying to figure out what being Numbered does/should mean for him. This may end up leading him to Vegas or a subsequent location, but at the moment he's got no plans to leave Locke. (Though doing so properly might well give him an Echo or two...)
Seeking Triggers For: PIRATE ESCAPES WITH LAME INSULT: One of the most hilarious scenes in Golden Sun is Briggs' escape. Felix gets Briggs, a notorious pirate, locked up, and then later Briggs escapes on a ship that Felix helped fix (literally right after; the guy saying the repairs are complete shows up almost on the heels of the guy reporting the escape). Felix gets to the harbor before the ship gets very far, though it's too far to catch up, and Briggs gets to deliver the taunt he's been saving for Felix (which consists of "Neener neener neener! Neener neener neener! Neener neener neener! Neener neener bleah!") I figure this could be triggered by either the "ridiculous insult" angle or the "he's getting away" angle, particularly now that Fred's at least tentatively superheroing. Alternately, if you can bring up some of the things Briggs says before taunting him - notably "Keep [town name] safe from thieves and pirates! And politicians, too!" - that could well work also.
MY MAGIC'S NAMED WHAT NOW?: I'd like to get him some of the canon-specific terminology, most particularly "Psynergy" for the magic itself, but also spell names; his healing spell, in particular, is Cure, which could work with some of the Final Fantasy people if stuff comes out. I have no specific ideas on this one.
YOU'RE A WEREWOLF: Like many fantasylands, Golden Sun has werewolves. If some of Locke's have access to a "wolfman" shape - the classic humanoid bodyshape with wolf head and fur - that could trigger some things. Especially if some of the triggering weres are cubs or have particularly fancy clothes they might wear while wolfmen.
EVENT MEMORIES: I'd like him to get more of these in general. Apart from Briggs' escape, above, I don't have a lot of specific ideas, and besides I'm pretty sure I know fewer canons here than we have players who know mine, so let me know if you've got any thoughts!
PSYNERGY TRAINING GROUND: Okay so the third Golden Sun game (the one that mostly doesn't include Felix) has this place called the Psynergy Training Ground, which is literally a theme park version of the first two games. As in, actual rides and carnival stuff. Considering that the games in question involve (among a number of other things) the near-death of both of Felix's parents, I can't believe he'd be happy with this. I just think it'd be fun for someone to suggest setting up some kind of training ground to learn how to deal with Echoed powers, and Fred to go "O.O NOPE I don't even know why but NOPE".
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge: Fred probably doesn't have a whole lot that's interesting, apart from his healing magic (with a visual of rising yellow sparkles) and drop-a-rock spell. If you get him talking about past-self experiences he might bring up the waterfall at the edge of his world, glimpsed in a brief Echo some time ago. Um... possibly his Djinni, pictured in the icon, could prompt something if handled right.

Description: Misato Katsuragi is a fashion model turned Numbered who more-or-less uses the Network for her own personal entertainment in between shoots and after work. She doesn't really take this whole Numbered business too terribly seriously. Obviously, that's going to change once she gets some of her past memories back -- and as the game proceeds, naturally!
Seeking Triggers For:
- Getting trapped in an elevator with Kaji. We can either get trapped together, or Misato can make a panicked phone call to you while she's stuck in there.
- Her father putting her in the capsule right before Second Impact. Misato'd probably have to be trapped in someplace small-ish.
- Memories of Second Impact. Either first-hand when she was a child, or secondhand as an adult.
- Her awesome tactical skills. I'd really like her to remember that she was a strategist for NERV, and then potentially put them to work in-game here.
- Adam. Either seeing him during Second Impact, or seeing him with Kaji. This one's probably going to be hard to Echo from canon occurrence alone, unless anyone's got some giant white alien-thing dangling from a cross somewhere.
- Being carried piggy-back style after getting falling-down drunk after a night of drinking with Ritsuko and Kaji. Okay, mostly Kaji. Bonus points if we can Echo back the conversation they had afterwards, too.
- Kisses. Either with Kaji or with Shinji. Or both. God, this has the potential to be the most awkward Echo ever.
- Recalling that she joined NERV for her revenge against the Angels. This one would be particularly good if StE's alien forces did something to her own family.
These were the first things that came to mind off the top of my head, but I'd basically be happy Echoing back anything that happened in canon. If you have anything you want to do that mirrors any of the Evangelion episodes closesly, let me know and we can make it happen!
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge: Not much right now, actually! Unless you know about Angels or Eva or hot springs penguins, there might not be much she can do for you, unfortunately. However, I'm always happy to help replicate canon events for other people. If you're canon-familiar and know of something that I can do for you though, let me know! I'm always down for conspiring.

You see, a penguin is the start of the trading sequence in Golden Sun, and while I'm not sure how that would pan out here in StE, it could be interesting to start it running. (The cow may be a sticking point. Possibly the turtle as well.)

Description: Naomi works in forensics, and is pretty unsure of her past self's shadiness. Right now she's looking for ways to contribute from a distance (mainly via trying to learn more about the game's mysteries), but eventually as she echoes back more of her medical background I want to have her get interested in taking a slightly more active role too.
Seeking Triggers For:
- GUILT/Crazy superviruses...or the memory of them, because unleashing actual superviruses wouldn't be too cool. I'm not sure how I'm going to echo this though - anyone else come from canons with this kind of thing? Maybe if she's thrown into a situation where she has to treat something she's unfamiliar with, a la the first time she actually had to operate on GUILT?
- Medical skills and knowledge. She might actively start seeking it out after a while, but in the meantime she's echoed enough that she's good with first aid! Situations where she might have to call on knowledge or see/recognize certain things might encourage more echoes.
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge: Naomi's mostly normal, but she's echoing back some of her old medical know-how already and she can hear the dead on her cell phone somehow. She's not fond of her past self and doesn't really hide the fact; she's openly stated that other her was probably involved in unethical experiments to some degree.

Description: Teenager and wannabe adventurer, new to the network but very interested in playing an active role if he can.
Seeking Triggers For:
- Ability to converse with animals! This one isn't hard and probably just requires one of our animal reincarnates with the ability to speak/type, but he hasn't been around long enough to find one yet.
- Battle artes? Ivar fights with twin swords and a couple of ground-elemental moves, so anyone with those would be cool.
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge: He's new, so he doesn't have much yet. He likes animals?

Description: Aimless friendly harpy-man turning into driven friendly spy pigeon. Currently he's modelling and trying not to be depressed.

Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge: Julien is a seven-foot bird creature who can move just about silently and imitate voices. He can speak Sindarin, if a little shakily. He likes to flirt.

Description: Kinda bratty kid in middle school, becoming a death god captain. He's not up to terribly much at the moment, what with recovering from injuries inflicted by Wise Snake and the aliens' trust effect in place. So basically it's . . . school, doing things for his granny, and follow-up appointments with doctors.
Seeking Triggers For: Oh god, I can't think of anything specific here, much as I want to. And as much as I would love for him to get more canon-recurrence Echoes, since he hardly ever gets anything outside of plot ones. Siiiiigh, why is this so hard?
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge: He's aware he's becoming a death god, if that's a thing that might be able to trigger somebody. He's got knowledge of ghosts, so anything dealing with those he may be able to help get Echoes for. He's pretty handy with a sword, has ice powers, a super speed ability, and also a spell that blows stuff up.

Description: L was a lil' genius chess prodigy who crashed and burned spectacularly after failing to make it into the police academy. He's spent time in a psychiatric hospital, struggled with drug addiction and made some pretty poor choices, but fortunately his dream remains alive, and his echoes are making it seem closer to becoming a reality every day. He wants to be a detective; nothing else matters, and even though he's still paying for past mistakes, there's nothing he won't do to solve his cases... even if it's morally dubious or illegal.
L's motives right now are driven by his conviction that he was a good guy in his previous life; he's devoted to L much like his canon successors were, seeing it as an ideal that contains the answers to his life and his purpose. So far, his echoes have brought things that are life-changingly lucky at best, and merely confusing at worst. He's building a coffee shop that's there to help numbered people (and to launder money in case anyone in his immediate circle echoes back a large sum.) He's solving cases as a private eye. And while he's running himself pretty ragged, he's living the life he always wanted: one he's in complete control of.
But his preincarnation has a lot of negative aspects he's not yet aware of. Things that might bring him down a little bit but are necessary for complete character development.
Seeking Triggers For:
Successors: There are a lot of smart kids L's existence basically dooms in canon. More memories of Near, Beyond, Mello, Matt, and all the others who looked to his title for answers would be good.
Let's Talk About Those Extra and Deleted Scenes: I play an L who's Frankensteined together from the anime, and the manga; mostly the anime, but I keep the dates from the manga because those didn't need to be changed. I also incorporate the scenes from the Re-Light specials that aren't directly contradictory to anything; L's funeral and the Lying Monsters Lecture are both pretty important IMO, so those happened, as well as the bells, rain, foot massage and death sequence. They're important and I want L to remember all of them. Except the funeral. That's impossible.
Shinigami: L saw one in canon, the Shinigami Rem. She's 7-8 feet tall and looks like she's made entirely of a bone-like substance (L called her a "white thing" at one point). L already knows something about Shinigami due to having echoed back a photograph of a suicide note with a hidden message contained therein. Speaking of which...
Those Other Two Suicide Notes: Both are pretty generic as notes go, but each contains another hidden message. One note's is "L do you know" and the other's is "love apples." There's actually another, fake note created by L himself that makes the whole message read, when it's combined with them, "L did you know Shinigami (who) love apples have red hands." Any talk about red hands, apples, or suicide could bring those back I guess but please play within your comfort zone regarding that last one and communicate with me if you'd rather skirt around certain issues. Like my character, I'm socially dense and not very sensitive to things like triggers. This doesn't mean I don't care.
Other Cases: L has solved over 1000. There are probably unlimited opportunities for echoes here but they'd all be pretty reliant on headcanon. I will happily work with you.
Holy stacks of cash, Batman: In canon, L had more money than God. He could absolutely echo some of that back.
HELICOPTER: Along with the ability to fly it.
Some skill in the martial art Capoeira: Or, at least, something that was drawn to strongly resemble it. The writers acknowledge this.
State of the art equipment: ...for 2004 anyway. Mostly computer and surveillance stuff.
Yet another phone: Thin black flip phone. It looks kind of like a Motorola razor.
Rolls Royce: Fancy car that Watari drove, but it belongs to L, like everything else they use.
More languages: I have an actual degree in Linguistics. I also play an anime genius. The conflict that ensues is embarrassing but L speaks a lot of languages. So far he's echoed back Russian and Greek; help him get others (starting with more than four half-absorbed semesters of Japanese).
More computer skills: I'm not really a computer person. L has some hacking skills echoed back at this point, and he's good enough to get into social security and the police records for mundane cases (ie, not gamewide plot or numbered related stuff). I'd treat this kind of like leveling up as he hones his skills.
Rampant insomnia: The kind that makes you hallucinate after five days.
Willingness to torture prisoners: An important moral event horizon
Willingness to blatantly exploit people: Another one.
Apathy toward actual justice beyond using it to manipulate people: The biggest one.
Fascination with murder bordering on perverse: Kinky and a little twisted, L gravitates toward weird cases that catch his interest. After awhile missing kids stop thrilling him.
Dislike for shoes and socks: This'll be practical.
Limited to one outfit forever: White shirt, jeans, we good.
Impressive vocal mimic: L has a skill for impersonating people on the phone to get the kind of information an obvious detective wouldn't get easily.
Uncircumcised, suddenly: That's totally headcanon and I'm half-joking, but wouldn't it be a startling surprise?
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge:
Looks like Cesare: L's kind of spooky-looking. He's a pale brunette with dark undereye circles and grey eyes that sometimes appear black. He also appears sickly and malnourished. Could possibly trigger a memory of someone who was ill, or who looked similarly neglected.
Scarred, damaged wrists: Characters who canonically dealt with suicide personally or through someone they knew might recognize telltale signs and have an echo triggered by this. AGAIN I will roleplay anything blithely and happily entrenched in the security of fiction but if you are uncomfortable with this please tell me.
Checkered History: Drugs, alcohol, mental institutions, casually burning chess trophies on public property without a permit at one point. Surprisingly, L wasn't promiscuous during this strange few years, and is in fact still a virgin. He doesn't bring these up typically, though, so getting to know him and get him to trust you enough to mention them is a must.
Speaks Russian, Greek, English, and some Japanese: Anything your character might know?
Computer hacking: Social security and police records are no problem.
Limited knowledge of Shinigami: These appear in a lot of anime.
Sweet tooth: So do these.
Childish, occasionally helpless: If you have a character with nurturing or parental tendencies, boy could this help bring them out.
Detective skills: He already has a few cases under his belt. Let's talk investigative techniques and share notes and possibly echoes.

Description: Tiny vampire child with a very dangerous power. Right now? Just a little girl with wings, fangs and can clone herself for short periods of time.
Seeking Triggers For: Other Spell Cards- She has quite a few..One I think that might be easiest is for her weapon, Lävatein, but I'm sure things can be figured out.
Her Vampire abilities and weaknesses- Needing to drink blood, her strength, her weaknesses..Everything on this one.
Her eyes- Turning from Blue to red. This one might be easy but eh.
Her ability to destroy anything- This one..I want to do in parts and probably need to talk to the mods about it a bit. (NOTE- I don't like using it unless Plot needed and mod permission)
Her old outfit- Because why not?
Her name, Family etc.- There are a few but there are others as well.

Description: The totally ordinary magician who defends the mystic land of Gensokyo from troublesome Youkai, and the packrat who annoys her friends when she doesn't have anything better to do.
Seeking Triggers For: - The return of the bag of holding effect that Marisa's hat apparently had. (it's never explicitly described as having any such powers, but she regularly pulls things out of it that would have been a bit awkward to fit in there.)
- Using the supernatural chill of ghosts to beat the heat during summer.
- The spell-card rules. Essentially Gensokyo's local strategic arms limitations. Since the nature of the setting is such that if everyone was throwing around all their power all the time then there are several characters who could destroy all of Gensokyo by accident, there are limitations on conflict, wherein people basically take turns throwing elaborate and elegant spells at each other until someone is totally overwhelmed by the complexity of the opponent's spell card.
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge: Marisa radiates a certain amount of magical energy to anyone who can sense such things, can fly on a broomstick (she can fly without it, but it's harder), fire giant lasers, build magical grenades, attach a magical rocket booster to her broomstick, and has a slowly growing knowledge of magical theory that allows her to reverse engineer the magical abilities of others and adapt them for her own style. She also has access to a variety of kinds of magical mushrooms.

Description: Arthur York was once Arthur Pendragon, an eternally 16-year old King who fought for the Holy Grail. He was already pretty animu and mangos, not gonna lie. Arthur York as he is now is a bit of a bum. For the most part, before his Echoes came around he was a completely spineless young man working for a contractor in construction. His first Echo, his dragon's blood, has the side effect of adding more confidence to him since he's not constantly brimming with energy. I plan on his Echoes coming in with his canon charisma returning along with his bravery. For the moment, he's more of a man who's got too little words for all the energy that he suddenly has. Arthur Pendragon would look down at him with shame. Utter shame.
Seeking Triggers For: Charisma. Apparently, Arthur was charismatic enough to lead an army or something. Pride in being a Knight is another thing. He's a knight, so he should act knightly. This is a trait I think he can have and be happy. Disney Prince Confidence. He has almost none. His dragon blood helps bolster his ego a little and he looks like a Disney Prince, but he doesn't act the part. Avalon. He'll probably need help recovering Avalon, his sheathe to Excalibur. Shameless power request... Riding Skill. He's actually a badass in any vehicle and on most creatures. If it can be ridden, he can ride it. I'd like an opportunity for this to happen. Since he's never once driven even in an arcade game, I'm wondering if just by touching a steering wheel this could work...
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge: Arthur used to play for the LCHS football team, he works in construction and again, is a Disney Prince.
As for his Echoes, Arthur has a set of magical armor and can create a massive amount of magical energy at will, which ends up looking like a lightning feeling all around himself. He has the presence of a dragon, because of his dragon's blood. Otherwise... Zzzz...

Description: Arlene is an LCU student studying theater, who works part-time at the mall (I'm picturing Macy's.) She's a spoiled brat and a troll, but not as straight-up nasty as her predecessor... yet. She still thinks this whole superhero thing is pretty sweet, poor sweet summer child.
Seeking Triggers For:
* Immunity to electricity, triggered by getting her dumb ass nearly electrocuted.
* Corridors of Darkness, this is likely to be a plot echo eventually but firsthand experience of someone else's portal-type powers could work instead.
* She has the ability to summon her knives, but she doesn't actually have them yet.
* Memories: I want to keep away from the memories of betraying the Organization and dying at the moment because I have plans for those, but anything else is fair game. It's about time to get her some things that would hint at what she's going to become and that she was one of the bad guys. Also her former name, number and title but I'm not sure how we'd canon-recur that. :|a
Unique Features/Abilities/Knowledge:
* She has lightning powers (though at the moment they're pretty limited), if that's something that would be familiar to your character. Or if they need to get hit by lightning for whatever reason.
* She doesn't have a whole lot of canon knowledge at the moment, but it's never been hard to start an echo train with other KH or Final Fantasy characters. Just sayin'.
* I don't know what else to put here, but I'm happy to help set up a canon recurrence for your character if you have any ideas!
edit: also she's in Locke at least until summer vacation, for the record.

Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, properly-demonstrated finger-lightning could actually produce a more interesting Echo. So either way!
