DAEMON MEME

THE DAEMON MEME

a DAEMON is an animal that represents your character's soul in some way; the concept originates from Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy.

HANDY WIKI LINK

Daemons are ALMOST ALWAYS the opposite gender of their person, and while their shape reflects their person's personality, they don't always agree with their person. Someone who seems stern might have a stern daemon... or they may have a boisterous one, showing a hidden side to them.

Children who haven't been through puberty have daemons that shapeshift, but they often have favorite forms.

SO

1. POST WITH YOUR CHARACTER.

2. If you know what their Daemon would be, tell us, and explain why! Is their preincarnation daemon any different than their reincarnation's? Why or why not?

3. If you're like WOW LAWL I HAVE NO CLUE then post asking for advice

4. RP stuff out! This is open to potential applicants as well for them to get a feel for their characters. Daemons are a great way to suss out personality traits.

Hell if I know. Although I guess I'd go with something nocturnal and solitary so... maybe a cat, I dunno?

Open to suggestions?

Hmmm... Some kind of nightjar? Cryptically patterned birds that usually hunt in the evenings/mornings or at night, usually hard to see in the day, splendid flyers, many of them give maddening calls all night long. There's a story about whip-poor-wills driving someone mad. Some are more social than others - oilbirds collect like bat colonies and echolocate - but most are pretty solitary.

Hmm... maybe. I was thinking of some kind of bird too but I didn't want to cheap out and pick a crow or something. That looks much better though

Crows are day birds and all quite social, too. If you want something a little more owlish, but not an owl either, there are frogmouths! But they tend to be more attached to one area, looks like, and don't fly as well.

Yeah, a bird that wanders more would probably suit her better since she's not really tied down anywhere. And a better flying as well since, well, she's gonna end up swooping between buildings all over the place at some point.

Any kind of smallish, quick, nocturnal bird I suppose.
