It's that time of year again! The unexpected smash-hit television series "Save the Earth" has just wrapped up its first season and once again the cast has returned to the convention world to answer questions, hint at upcoming events, debut showcase trailers, show never-before-seen behind the scenes footage and bloopers, and get up to all sorts of other stuff!


How To Play!
1. This meme assumes that all character canons don't exist in this reality. They've all been created for the show
2. Post with your character. You are now writing the character's "actor" in this strange meta-universe. Include their real name and a little bit about where they came from. Are they a fan favorite? A newcomer to television lucky enough to get their start on such a successful show?
3. Post anonymously (or not) to ask fan questions of other characters! Everything from the ordinary to shipping stuff to creepy and weird. Talk about the show, hint at characters' preincarnations and tease audiences about the crazy stuff future Echoes will bring. Talk about what actors you like to work with and who you can't stand to be around. Tell stories of pranks and shenanigans on set!
4. Or just do whatever you want to do. I don't know. I'm not your boss.

Same thing as last time! Except with season two getting underway, it's a good time to go into more detail so this means bigger, louder, better trailers than before! Or, if your character is already well-established, give them a spotlight video showcasing just what they're capable of.

[Some sharp-eyed fans may notice a few shots of a red-headed teen not seen in the previous season. Shots include him in a small, cluttered apartment drawing on a tablet; him trying to feed a large black tom-cat on a apartment balcony; and finally a shot of him writing his network ID down for what appears to be the first time! Who is this kid? And is that really a fluffy princess looking dress in his closet?]

[Guess who's out and about on the floor, going to stalls and tables to browse all the work! Rakka's going through the convention incognito. Which apparently means dressing in her civilian clothes from the show, complete with trademark, red baseball cap.

While some fans are reacting with appropriate excitement, at least some people are playing along with her game of "I'm a normal human. Nothing to see here!"]

Raye Satterfield ---- Kim Watts

[24 years old, Kim has been around television and film since she was a young kid. The daughter of a fairly famous Hollywood actor, she's had a few small parts in movies and television growing up before vanishing off the stage to finish high school and college. After which, she eagerly grabbed the chance for her eleventh-hour role in Save the Earth.]

[This is her first time doing a panel, but she's enthusiastic to be there and loves talking with fans whether in-person or online through Twitter and other websites and is pretty good-natured about any questions or comments about Senketsu's appearance.]

[She's up on stage wearing in costume, specifically Senketsu's regular form, who unfortunately will not be looking around at things as his moving eye is added with cgi in the series, but as an added bonus Senketsu's voice actor, Aaron Jones, is waiting backstage with a microphone waiting to butt in help out with the Q&A.]

Melissa Lyre -> Rachel Richards

[This is Rachel's return to the screen, since she took a year off to have her first child. She's not new to the world of conventions and television, though. She's been in numerous supporting roles in a wide variety of geeky shows, and is a proud nerd herself. Early on in the panel she makes some comment about how she's glad to have been invited as a guest so she didn't have to wrestle people over badges.]

Isaac Dian -> Chris Hedgewick & Miria Dian -> Ikra Borowski

[Classically trained Chris Hedgewick is clearly not a fan of this adventure show nonsense. He's known for being a nuisance on the set for his whiny, uppity demeanor, and clear disgust with being on a show as low-brow as this. He's known for his roles in... quite a few adventure shows actually. He's particularly remembered for his role as "General Martin" in space opera United 7.

Ikra Borowski is much more pleased. She hails from Russia and is best remembered for her ballet career. It caught a lot of people off guard when she suddenly took an interest in the tv industry. She's much more playful and friendly than her colleague, although she's still very new to this.

All in all, they both seem to be in a pretty good mood, perfectly willing to answer whatever questions they please. Although, Chris kind of side-eyeing Ikra's burglar costume because why would you indulge the fans with silliness and potential spoilers

Otherwise, their fandom is pretty much unchanged since the last convention. Although, the immortal thing was a pretty big surprise, all in all. They're taking it pretty well so far, but who knows how that will change in time.]

Henry Cassidy -> Jared Swanning

[Eleven year old, Jared is a new character to the show making his first big debut as Henry Cassidy. While he's played very minor roles in other shows as a background character, Jared is eager to show he can take on a much more demanding role for his age.

While hailing from New York, this is Jared's first ever con that he's been invited to. Of course, his mom's with with him most of the time except at the Panel where she's sitting in the audience.

Most of the time though he's pretty quiet at the table unless he's getting a question but he just smiles the whole way through.]

Neku -> Hikaru Mirimoto

[copy'd from the previous meme: Hikaru's past jobs have mostly been in voice-acting for anime and bit parts in a few J-dramas and kid shows, so this is his big break out. He has a couple hang over fans from the otaku fanbase, but for the most part this is pretty new to him. Mostly his fanbase finds him adorably awkward.

Since the last con, Hikaru's picked up a couple new voice-acting jobs here and there, but he'll say right now his focus has been on the show and even with a cast as huge as this one there's a lot of work the actors have to do individually.]

Rakka Yoshitoshi <--> Ryou Savage

[20 years old and fresh out of acting school, American-Japanese Ryou was extremely lucky to get into a show like Save The Earth. She'd never really had any roles before this one, apart from some background character things she did when she was younger. This was her big break, and she was going to give it her all.

Apart from that, Ryou was basically a colossal nerd. She loved anime and comics and games. The reason she was a character at all was because she was a fan of the show in the first place. This was her first panel where she was actually one of the speakers and not a guest. To put it bluntly, she was freaking out.

But she was still there, a big dumb grin on her face as she took everything in excitedly and greeted the fans. She was wearing that one dress she got from the Christmas special as a kind of sneak peak to the fans. Unfortunately, her halo isn't there, as it was inserted into scenes with her through CGI. There's no wings either, although the supposed wingslits on the back of her dress must mean something, right?]

Phillip Santorini -> Matthew Harris

[copy'd from previous meme: Phillip's actor, Matthew Harris, as is the norm with children, is a little bit older than his character- he's just about hitting that super awkward age to be a child actor when they start to go through puberty. Still, in comparison to some of his fellow transferring child stars, he's doing quite well.

With the reveal of his alternate form, plus the fact that he's apparently immortal, there's been a LOT of speculation on what he might be. Matt's keeping his mouth shut, but it's super hard not to grin at the excitement around it all. Someone even gave him a little statue of his other form!]

Matt Abbot-->Alexander Westwood

[Matt's actor is a newcommer to the acting arena, who only showed up at auditions because it meant he got the day off from school. He got the part by actually writing up Matt's post about how they're all fictional, handing it to the casting crew and improvising the entire conversation in character.

But now the little shit can't keep a straight face on set. Delivering Matt's lines seriously is almost impossible because really what is this kid. Alex is super good natured and spends a majority of his time switching food at the catering table and playing pranks on random people. In that way, the kid was absolutely perfect for the roll.

He's super nervous about the serious way the character is going to turn in season 2, and he keeps joking about how he's actually going to turn out to be the big bad behind the aliens. His hair is blue today, though, because he wants to see how it's going to look since it's going to be that way for a long time (wigs make him itchy) and he's wearing the red SEES armband Matt just got back.]

Ivy "Granny" Curry --> Betty White

[Betty White has been doing television for a long time. A long, long time. Roughly sixty-five years--and that's not counting anything she's done for radio. It's probably a given that nearly everyone at the convention had heard of her before Save The Earth, if only thanks to The Golden Girls.

Despite all this, she's not at all snobbish and is in fact very happy to answer people's questions, even if not all of them are for the shows she's currently in. The only time she gets short with people is if they try to insinuate that she's just doing Rose Nylund all over again with Ivy. Which she is not and she'll make that very clear. Really, people!

At some point she, Arthur's actor, and a young female actor that as far as anyone knows isn't in the show yet perform the anthropology rap together, calling it a "Curry Family Singalong."]

Bakura -> Richard Matsumoto

[Bakura's actor is Richard Matsumoto, a half Japanese, super energetic spotlight hog. Richard is an ascended fanboy, a giant fan of comics from both America and Japan as well as hero shows. He's a bit more relaxed this time, but still grinning like an idiot and giving thumbs up to the crowd, especially when he spots a familiar face.

As with last time, he's also being a little imp when it comes to answer questions, never giving a complete yes or no to anything and often hinting at things that he won't follow up on. ]

How long is the ship teasing with Marisa and Bakura going to go on? I mean come on. Pretending to date to discourage a stalker? There's no way that's not going to grow into something more, right?

Sakuya Tachibana -> Takeshi Honda

[Takeshi is not at all used to being in the spotlight and looks utterly nervous and self conscious. A stuntman gone actor, there's a lot of speculation why someone of his background is playing what looks to be just a passive family man. But all people get from the actor is apologies and "wait and see!"

He is, however, willing to talk about the strange transition from just doing stunts to suddenly being the focus, and the parenting classes he took for the role. He also has nothing but praise for the child actors playing Sarah and Sam, joking that maybe this role will make a real family man out of him some day.]

Stella ---> Mira Fontaine, Tessa Liu, Cookie and Doughnut

[ Stella's principal writer and her now voice actress (who has already had a few vocal cameos when she's having internal monologues and speaking non-verbally to other animals) is a lovely woman named Mira Fontaine, and the two ferrets who play her onscreen, Cookie and Doughnut, are handled by another lovely woman named Tessa Liu. They're well acquainted and are known to work together to find the limits of what the two ferrets can do. They often handle con season as a team when it comes to Stella! Cookie and Doughnut don't usually come on the convention circuit, but they give the best high-fives. They both happen to be here for the convention, but they are both leashed and contact has been preemptively forbidden for safety's sake. Cookie tends to play favorites and run off; Doughnut is chill and quiet. ]

Mimi > Leah Sanders

[A popular child actress who got her start in various prime-time shows (and later, movies) as The Daughter of many a sitcom family. She garnered a decent amount of attention when she was first announced as the voice of Mimi, and there was quite a bit of excitement when she showed up in person as Mimi's human form to boot. In reality, she's fairly excitable even when she's clearly trying to keep calm and reserved in front of the fans - she often waves to people and will happily answer any questions turned her way, but whenever it comes to spoilers the best she can do is try to hide her smiles.

This is her first convention, and it really shows with how nervous she is. She can often be spotted turning to the other actors for guidance when she's feeling especially lost.]

Skyler Veracruz ---> Jordan Gutierrez

[ Ever since Jordan joined the cast halfway through the first season, his popularity has become... Somewhat notorious for being obnoxious, worryingly teenager, and absolutely enormous. The actor himself hasn't changed much from the quietly affable young man he was when he attended his first convention; he spends much of his time sitting in his chair and interjecting only when is opinion is called for. His friendships with several of his costars has only seemed to encourage the easy grins and hugs he seems fond of which go almost unseen in his role as Skyler the cyborg magician thug. It's the fandom that has changed, for better or for worse. It's very big and the very loudest part, not to put too fine a point on it, is obsessed with shipping him with a certain half ghost hero in increasingly worrying ways. He and Danny's actor have done nothing to suppress the shipping, and probably unwittingly caused the whole mess in the first place by being particularly good friends offscreen and having stupid adventures that they tweet every now and then. Add that to the fact they they've been having more and more of their interviews together annnnd yeah. 

Jordan is friendly and warm to the fans in one on one situations like autograph sessions, but has a tendency to get a little quieter during the panels. Still, he has several years of theater under his belt and seems to soak up attention very comfortably and with a mildly bewildered sense of humor. ]

[This question comes from one girl sitting in a gaggle of friends, after a lot of whispering and giggling and flapping of hands. It takes her several tries to get the question out, mostly because she keeps giggling herself and having to shush interjectors.]

Sooo... this question's for Jordan-- I know, I know, shush!-- There's been a lot of talk about Skyler and Danny lately. Even Octavia's getting in on the shipping! No, shh, it's different! Is that something you two are going to play up in season 2? Should we be on the lookout for something to develop there?

Ghannam Demir --> Arslan Korkmaz

[Arslan is a Turkish film actor who's success in his home country has led to opportunities abroad. The character of 'Ghannam' is his first English-speaking role and he's been working very hard to portray a character who has known English a looot longer than he has.

Since this is Arslan's first Western production, this is his also his first Western convention! He's entirely new to the sights and sounds of ComiCon and is still a little awestruck by his current surroundings. While he doesn't get the costumes and isn't used to how the panels are set up, he's extremely happy to be here. He honestly can't wipe the grin off his face. It's just such a fun atmosphere!

He's far more fun-loving than the character he plays, far more laid-back. He's more than happy to talk about where Ghannam will be going in Season 2, even if he's required to keep things vague. He's just so pumped, since there are plans to do more with the character, in fact he knows of a few 'echos' they have lined up that he's really looking forward to. And just any more work with the cast--they really are a joy to work with, especially the older 'Luke'.]

Killian Ryan -> Peter Sheeran

[The funny part about Peter being cast as Killian?

He's actually that short. Not nearly that babyfaced, especially not with facial hair, but he's really only about five feet. He's built as hell and was before taking this role, which is part of why he was cast. Before taking the role, he was mostly known for webseries (including a few fantasy ones as a Dwarf, so really his reveal wasn't so much a reveal as a "well duh") and a few video game voice overs. He's way more fun than Killian, known for pranking literally all the people and being the worst person to ask a question to because he will troll a little.

And he owns two of the dogs that are used for the Thorssons.]

Chinen Shou ---> still not really Gackt

[ continuing from last year's convention, G has settled more into his role, showing off a wide range of talent that most nay-sayers were surprised to see. While he still plays off of his more natural dramatics to fill out Shou's screen time, it is obvious that there is a lot of care to balance the wacky with the more serious side to him. Fans are surprised that he is still in the show due to the fact that not only was he touring for a large chunk of time, he also was suffering under a couple huge changes in his label and staff, and a couple malicious tabloid articles.

With the sudden appearance of the mysterious 'Kei' - and the fact that the actor for that role is none other than G's friend and rival rock star H - rumors have been flying as to how things will change in the up coming season. G and H don't say much about it, although anyone who speaks Japanese can hear them also speculate just how the relationship between their two characters will progress G in particular asked H if he wants to kiss on screen or tease off screen to which H grumbles to knock it off, but otherwise G will stick to teases about the next season. If asked, he will talk at great length about how H came to join the show.]

Melati Narsurya ---> Fatima Wahim

[ A bubbly young woman from Maine, her nerve and cutting sense of humor along with not a little bit of negotiating skill convinced the director to throw in a part for her in the very last second. Fatima spent three sleepless weeks collaborating with the writers to make a character that would fit well with the other characters in Locke City and integrate with the small alien cast moving into play within the story. Fatima herself is a gregarious kind of girl who smiles often and laughs harder than anyone else in the room, and is a self professed artist and writer trying to get her own script for a quirky Millennial dramedy off the ground. ]

[ Dean see's Fatima across the hall and it takes a while to get to her, but at least he waved. He really enjoyed working with her, even if it was only once! ]

Akito Tanabe > Kai Tanabe

[Actually mixed Chinese-Japanese, but born in the US. He's a new actor whose past roles were all bit parts, primarily as Student J in the Background thanks to his young appearance despite being twenty-two. He's always been a big fan of movies and television, so while this isn't his first time to a convention, this is his first time as an actor.

He definitely walks around the convention floors (there's other shows he's interested in, after all!) and doesn't mind stopping for fans in the slightest when they're able to catch him... Not that it's especially difficult since he keeps his hair in basically the same style as Akito anyway. Much like the character he portrays, he's generally playful and enjoys teasing fans by giving varied reactions to whatever crazy theory they might ask about regarding future events regardless if it's something that will turn out to be true or not. He also more than likely has a reputation for showing up five minutes late to the sets with Starbucks, though lately he's gotten into the habit of paying for other peoples' coffee in apology.

When asked about getting the part, he's fond of retelling his story about actively pursuing the role for the sole reason of sharing a last name with the character in question.]

Xander Jarle <-> Lloyd Terell

[Lloyd started out as an American model, then ventured in to acting as an extra before getting a role as a villain of the episode for one of those many crime scene shows. Since then, he's been doing a lot more photo shoots and takes on the occasional tv role of a minor or major character. He's usually easy-going and pleasant to work with, but can have the odd moment of mischievousness.

As he sits at the panel table, he smiles at the audience and occasionally glances to whomever is speaking at the time. He's willing to answer questions, but he can't exactly spoil too much about what is happening with his character.]

Luke Kokiren (teen) --> Nicholas Stimpson

[Nicholas isn't new to acting, but he was largely unknown before being cast to STE. He's been in small budget movies here and there, but this is by far the largest and most popular production he's ever been a part of. As is often the case he's significantly older than the character he's playing. Luke's "18" but Nicholas is 26. He's happily walking the convention floor, posing for pictures and engaging with the fans, but the best part is that he's doing it all in full costume.]

Alexander Varista --> Bailey Yates

[ Bailey is a thirty-something actor who had dived into Save the Earth right after wrapping up a commitment to another TV series on a different station. A modern/fantasy crossover, he played a deluded, society-hating cannibalistic villain hellbent on returning the world to its 'proper' state. That role had been his big break. True to fandom, that character has also been subjected to a lot of woobification.

As the STE writers had hoped, Bailey has also done well in the more sane role of Alexander Varista. There were initial concerns that someone who really shone as a dark character wouldn't be able to pull of a lighter one, but Bailey's pulled off Alexander's shift between somberness and humor quite smoothly.

His wife cameoed as Alexander's wife early in the series. They have a dog, but no children. Out of character, Bailey appears to be somewhat reserved, not nearly as talkative as Alex, but carries a quiet sense of humor that comes out more through actions than words. He's a cool cucumber who gets along with everyone, rarely ruffled up, so when he does get angry, it's a very subtle change in atmosphere that tends to keep people on their toes around him.

Then the air warms up, things return to normal, but you're left wondering if things are really alright or if he's covertly planning your demise. ]
