[Hajime's a quiet kid, a little small for his age, and prone to doing really stupid things on bicycles if he's not being supervised properly.

Which he isn't. There's a kid building a horribly unsafe-looking sweet bike ramp right over there.]

[This was right up Ariel's alley since she was always so active. The bike ramp looked like it was going to be A LOT of fun.]

Oh hey! Can I give it a go when you're done?

[chalicejoker]

[He jumps a little at suddenly being approached, because he's had adults stop him before, but it's another kid? He gives a shy nod.]

Yeah, sure. Once I'm done.

[He resumes his task, but then stops.]

You wanna help?

Sure whatcha want me to do? [Ariel hasn never really constructed a bike ramp before, but she sure is eager to give this one a try so she is willing to help build it too.]

[chalicejoker]

Uh...maybe get me those crates over there?

[Yeah, those old plastic crates? They'll make a good foundation. So Hajime thinks, anyway.]

[sylvanguard]

Sure! [Ariel goes and grabs the crates one at a time, bringing them over.]

So Where you want them? [She is really excited to be doing something fun like this.]

Over there, by the higher end. They're gonna be support.

[He's got this ramp constructed of shaky-looking large scraps of plywood and what's possibly part of an old ping-pong table, and it definitely needs that support.]

[sylvanguard]

[Ariel nods and goes over, beginning to fiddle with the ramp, shoving and stacking the crates to provide the needed support.]

This is going to be awesome!

I've been planning it for months. Took forever to get all the stuff together.

[He's starting to be a little less shy now that the ramp's coming together so well.]

[sylvanguard]

You mean you've had no one to help you? [She is almost done adding the support. It's a lot less wobbly on this end, but it's still a little shaky. Ariel just thinks it will add tot he excitement!]

Yeah, my sister's too little to help.

[And he's one of those too-quiet kids with very few friends...not that he really bothers him as he carefully makes sure everything is relatively stable. It's not like he's got nails or anything to get it to stick together better.]

[sylvanguard]

My lil' sis woudl just run to mom saying I was doing something dangerous.

[To Ariel, it's perfect, but only because she's never built anything like this before and she is really excited to test it out and give it a go.]

I don't think Mitsuko would, unless it was really bad...

[He's putting on his helmet now, because his parents got him a cool superhero one and the least he can do is wear it in the hopes of channeling cool superhero power to make this jump.]

Alright, I think I'm ready.

[sylvanguard]

[Ariel steps back to give him room. Since he built the ramp, its really is only fair that he goes first.

She grins seeing his helmet, thinking it was pretty cool. Hers was pink wit flowers. A christmas gift from a friend of the family. She'd stuck pirate and dinosaur stickers on it to try and hide the flowers, but they were embarrassingly florescent pink.


Once away, she gives him the thumbs up sign and eagerly awaits the awesome that is about to happen.]

[He gives her a thumbs-up, and there he goes, pedalling at the ramp as fast as he can, and, miraculously enough, it holds just long enough to get him quite a bit of altitude...but it's wobbly enough that there's no way he's going to be able to stick that landing, and...

wow, that is an impressive wipe-out.]

[sylvanguard]

[SHe clasps for him, cheering him on, and then.... wow. gasping Ariel bolts over towards him, worried and more than a little scared.]

Hey, you okay?! You alive?

[chalicejoker]

[He groans, and sits up, and generally looks dazed and miserable. He's blown out the knees on his jeans, is pretty scraped up, and is probably going to get killed by his parents when he gets home.]

I think so...

[sylvanguard]

[She winces big time at his scrapes, but at least he is moving, right?]

You got some sweet air time before you crashed.

[Ariel is torn with wanting to have a go at it and helping him out. Its obvious the way she keeps looking between him and the ramp.]

[chalicejoker]

[He's still wincing as he sits up.]

Did I? It...the ramp wobbles...

[sylvanguard]

Probably need some rope or something [She has no idea, really.]
Well for a bit and then boom crash! [She makes some gestures to go along with the crash noises she is making.]

Maybe so...

[But ow, that hurts, ow, ow, he's holding one of his arms funny when he gets up.]

[sylvanguard]

[Ariel winces looking at his arm.]

I think we need to take you home. Or to the nearest adult.

[chalicejoker]

Mom's gonna kill me...

[It's not clear if he's saying that because of his arm or because he's torn up his pants pretty good in the process.]

[Ariel has been in a similar boat, so it's safe to say: both.]

'prolly, but at least she'll help you and maybe she'll kill you after instead of before!

[So helpful.]

'Kay which way is home? Or do you wanna stay here and lemme go an find an adult?

Maybe so...

[He's limping over to his bike now. Can't leave that behind!]

It's a couple of blocks over that way. I'll go too--she's gonna freak out either way, and it'd be worse if I wasn't there with you.
