[test] THIS WEATHER IS RIDICULOUS

Random scenario test drive meme. Some prompts:
> Ah god it's so hot and muggy how awful!
> The worst thing about summer cold snaps: you don't usually have your windbreaker handy because it's been so damn hot.
> The wind is perverse and trying to steal your things and/or crash stuff into you.
> It's raining wet vermy-things, as if the hail and possible storm wasn't bad enough. Now you have rain-echoes to deal with, at best.
> A nice day? I guess those exist?

So where are you?
> Caught way out in the open! At the beach, in the steet, at a fair, anywhere.
> Taking shelter! Bus stop, club you wouldn't normally frequent, bridge underpass, any port in a storm, any shade from the deathsun.
> In the mall or somewhere comfortably out of the elements, you lucky sunuvanek.
> Somewhere... else? idk, do what you want!

Have at thee!

[Yeah, that's right, you just shut up until he needs you for something. Stupid human. Ugh, these security measures are ludicrous. Hang on, deleting everything and reprogramming from scratch.]

YOUR WIRELESS INTERNET SECURITY IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE CHANGED YOUR PASSWORD TO A MORE SECURE ONE.

IT IS VERY SECURE FOR AN ORGANISM WHOSE BRAIN EVOLVED FROM A TREE-DWELLING RAT. HOWEVER, I REQUIRE HIGHER STANDARDS.

YOUR PASSWORD NOW CONSISTS OF 153 RANDOMLY-GENERATED ALPHANUMERIC CHARACTERS. I WOULD SHARE IT WITH YOU BUT YOUR MARGINALLY-DEVELOPED BRAIN IS INCAPABLE OF RECALLING SUCH A QUANTITY OF INFORMATION.

IN ADDITION, IT APPEARS THAT A GOVERNMENT AGENCY IS ATTEMPTING TO INTERCEPT DATA SENT AND RECEIVED FROM THIS CONNECTION. IN EXCHANGE FOR COOPERATION, I WILL INTERFERE WITH THESE ATTEMPTS.

[See? He's not such a bad roommate afterall, is he?]

[[OOC: this is Anthy, and her app can be found here. I'm still working on it.]]

[Somewhere on the LCU campus, on a summer day which is just beginning to cloud over...

The wind was picking up, and there was a nasty bite to it that Rita did not like at all. Shrugging on her waterproof jacket, she ran outside and grabbed a set of stakes and wires. She hadn't expected weather like this, but she knew what to do, and she began securing the most delicate plants, holding them in place so that they wouldn't bend or break. Rain and wind could do serious damage to a garden, even at this time of year, and she was taking no chances. The first drops of rain splattered on her hand, and she shrugged her hood up quickly.

[Calista was standing under an over hang, staring at the sky with clear distaste. It was doing these things purely to upset her, she swore to herself mentally. It didn't look like it was letting up any time soon either, which lead to her releasing an annoyed sigh. She was supposed to finish a build today, and being wet would only delay things- that is, if she could even get back.

Luckily the components she bought to finish her work was still in it's individual protection, but she wasn't willing to chance walking back in this rain after all the money they was going into it. Then there was that familiar face walking by conveniently just as she was going to decide to wait. Crunching her nose up at the chances, she took a breath and pushed out into the torrential downpour. If Cain was going to brave it, so would she.

What a sad sight you are. You look almost drowned.

[For the sake of my sanity let's assume that this little guy's human did all that.

There's a cell phone charging nearby.]

[He's more than a little surprised to see Calista here, and whether it's a pleasant or negative one is hard to tell. Even for him.]

Brave words! Particularly when it should make two of us before long, ma petite soeur.

[Well. Misery loves company, anyway.]

[She let it roll off her like the rainwater itself. 24 years stuck together, and you learn to somehow live with the tiny annoyances. She did, however, start walking somewhat faster.]

I should have stayed safe where I was instead of finding out what madness convinced you to walk in this.

Better delete those.]

[Getting caught in the rain without any umbrella is one thing. Getting caught out in one of the worst thunderstorms of the summer, with pellets of hail falling out of the sky causing the sidewalks to be extraordinarily slippery, all while frantically trying to keep an entire folder of student papers dry... Well, that was certainly another. Francis Fell had been half-running, half-sliding his way down the block when the rain became particularly heavy, and found himself tripping over himself getting underneath the plastic awning that stretched over the bus stop bench.

With a groan, the college professor slumps down onto the seat of the bench, opening up the laptop case he'd been carrying over one shoulder and shoving the folder full of papers inside. Those would have to be dried out with a fan later, Heaven forbid any ink ran...

Believing himself to be alone, Francis mutters to himself as he zips the bag back up, keeping it close to his side.]

Bloody hell, it figures the one time that bell-end of a weatherman was right about the rain, I would forget my umbrella. Pregnant woman be damned, I'm not giving up this seat until the sky is done throwing its fit.

[Well isn't he quite a chipper person today...]

[Akito Tanaba was actually quite lucky to make it into the mall just as the downpour really started, so while he's damp, he's not entirely soaked. But the people he was planning to meet up with might not be so fortunate...

Checking his phone, it looks like there's only about five minutes until the official meeting time. He can't help but grin to himself as he imagines the surprise the others are going to be in for when they finally arrive.
]

Heh-- Hope they brought an umbrella.

[ Someone seems to be positively enjoying the rain, though perhaps it's because, despite looking relatively sane, she has a few screws loose somewhere in the back. ]

I don't think it sucks for anyone, unless it's acid rain! And then we'd all be dying.

[ Or something? She doesn't fact check, she just kind of absorbs what she sees at this point. Still, the fact that she hasn't got an umbrella or a coat or anything relatively waterproof seems to indicate that she's not particularly concerned about the acidity of this particular rain. ]

I guess you're waiting for the bus now too, huh?
greenbark: (pic#)

[personal profile] greenbark 2013-08-02 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Cosmic Starlight doesn't believe in public transportation unless it's for two reasons: one is that you're injured and two is that there is a downpour so torrential that your laptop in the pocket of your off-brand indie backpack will get ruined. Thankfully it's only the second one that applies today, so she's already sitting on the edge of the bus bench when she watches this curious man stuff paper after paper into a bag. ]

[ Cosmic isn't wearing any raingear -- that much plastic for use in an item of clothing simply wasn't sustainable -- but she doesn't seem to mind that she's wet. ]

Do people actually watch the news? That's so weird...
dancingonapin: (You're sure about that?)

yo~

[personal profile] dancingonapin 2013-08-02 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Francis jumps a little when he hears the girl's voice beside him. He glances over her and blinks, surprised that he hadn't noticed her presence. Then again with this downpour, he was too preoccupied to keep track of every detail in his surroundings.

Her question is really odd, though. Really odd. He furrows a brow at her.]

Checking the telly for a weather report is hardly weird behavior. At least as far as I'm aware.
